Lightning Can Strike Twice: Rayman Legends Wii U Demo Impressions [GAMINGtruth]

Greg Bargas writes up his impressions on the Rayman Legends demo for Wii U.

"After playing through the demo quite a few times, it is no wonder that the continuation titles in the Rayman franchise have been such a hit. The second game in the series mildly changes things up a bit, having Rayman and Co. heading into portals hidden in portraits. At first, these images look nothing more than interesting, some housing what looks like a Medieval era. All of a sudden, KABLAM!" (Rayman Legends, Wii U)

I love what they are doing with Rayman these days. Wish I had a Wii U to try this out.

I played Origins on 360 about 3 months ago. It was my first Rayman game but it was fun. At least levels/ worlds 1-4.

As soon as I had to start running on the ceiling I was like "WTF" and instantly lost interest.

I like the Art style though....the colors...I wish they would make it a bit less weird though.

This game is beautiful! I can't stop playing the demo with friends and family. I think it's going to score a lot of perfect scores. As long as Rayman Legends maintains its integrity throughout the entire game, it could be one of the best 2D side-scrollers ever created. This is one of the reasons for having a Wii U! Now let's hope that Bayonetta 2 is just as good looking and plays just as well as this. I can't wait to see what more developers can do on this system. These are games being built from the ground up on Wii U and Rayman is a prime example of what the Wii U is capable of. Lighting fast load times, native 1080p/60fps graphics, solid controls, it's amazing!

I did see something about publishers limiting the amount of demo plays. Too bad its at 30. Lol, All I want to do is go back and play, but I do want to savor what is there right now. Yes, The platforming/presentation/artis tic blend is superb!!

Even though it's at 30 I still have 29 more tries! I've played many, many, many times, and my friends and family have too. Demo limits are fine the 3DS has them and I have yet to use all of my uses.

Mine is downloading right now. Kinda slow though. Should hardwire it I guess. Anyways is the demo really that good?

YES! I grabbed a LAN Adapter off eBay for 10 bucks. Best money I've ever spent ^_^

They shouldnt have added those horrible murphy gameplay segments they are horribly shoehorned in.

I thought they were done well. They even did little things like allow you to swat bugs and interact with the level. That's not slapping you with controls just for the sake of them on the gamepad

I can't wait for it to hit the other systems next year.
Rayman Origins was fantastic!

Unless PS4/nextbox feature tablet functionality in their controllers, I find it hard to see it being ported with all of it's intended features.
BoNeSaW23  +   1148d ago
I didn't mention PS4/netbox did I?
Their is still Android,Vita and the DS possibilities.
Also, a tap can be replaced with button, pull and hold can be assigned to a analog stick and a slash can be replaced with crosshair or contact etc, etc.

I'll save my "Told you So" for next year ;)

nintendo is helping to publish the game

so you can say goodbye to the "i told you so"

Saw this demo in Best Buy. Some little girl was playing over and over. My first thought was to push her aside and grab the controller (picture Will Ferrel in Old School pushing kids out of the way) but luckily cooler heads prevailed. I just told her her mom left her there and BLAMO she left asap. I did get some dirty looks but who cares? I tought that little ginger not to get between me and my console. Its the principality Smokey!
