Good laugh. Yes, we have all run into at least one of those stereotypes and there are plenty of "The Traps" - guys seem to often play as women, because, yes...they get treated differently.
Hold on a minute. From what I gather, you're a girl gamer, who, for some reason, has a huge fascination for girl gamers.
Sorry if I'm being direct here but I think you and the first 'type' of girl gamer alluded to in your article have something in common. This is the second gender-focused article you have published if I recall correctly.

I have a brilliant story about my internet sex change. On Mortal Kombat 9's King of the Hill Mode, your Xbox Live avatar is used in the spectator mode.
Basically, long story short; some guy with 9 or so consecutive wins was trash talking everyone in the lobby to the amusement of his friends I could hear in the background. I changed my avatar to a female one for the sole purpose of trolling MK9 players such as the above. When I was on next, these guys ridiculed me talking about how I was going to get my arse handed over to me because I was a girl.
What happened next? DOUBLE flawless victory. People who had previously muted their mics in the lobby unmuted and a whole lot of shouting, cheering and abuse was flying around. It was epic. IF ONLY I had recorded it on my HD PVR.
One thing girl gamers need to stop doing - calling themselves girl gamers. If you play games, doesn't matter what gender you are. I don't refer myself as a guy gamer. I just enjoy playing computer games, as do millions of men and women.
Drop the girl gamer crap. You're not unique and different.
as a girl , anyone saying the term "gamer girl" or "girl gamer" about themselves , i just stay away from them, playing a video game is not something to brag about , and i usually dont tell ppl im a girl when im gaming , its not worth it .

@Septic, sorry I'm replying down here but I can't internet this evening. I think that stereotypes exist because we all share common human behaviours (I realise someone has probably thought of that already)but the point is that we all do share traits with each other: Meaning that yes, I do share traits with the sort of girl I discussed here but to be fair, a girl has to pay the bills somehow. Probably dudes should stop buying into my nonsense, winkyface.

And I personally couldnt care about what people do with their time.
i know at least 5 or 6 girls that play games on a daily basis and they never had any problems fitting in.
