Xenogears' story deserves a complete makeover

Bitmob - So I sat in a chair ... a lot.

I couldn't wait to play through the second disc of Xenogears. The main characters already survived a series of tragic losses. I just had to see how the story ended.

Then the entire narrative slowly started falling apart. (Culture, Xenogears)

Did i think that the 2nd disk of Xenogears was 'rushed' well yeah a lot of people do nowadays but it really didn't stop it from still being a great game.

The first disc was packed with content & so much an emotional rollercoaster ride that taking a break from it was what i thought the 2nd disc was for. The 2nd disc was Fei understanding his past/past lives & coming to terms with who he was really. Not much action can really be given if it is entirely 'story driven'. Besides the part when the end was happening is some of the most epic stuff from the game.

From what i heard the game went over budget for Square & that most of the remaining resources went to development of FF8.

Dude, it started with a 45-minute cut-scene. 45-minutes!

And no matter how contrived or convoluted the plot may be accused of being, it is hands down better than FF8's.

Crucified furry or no.

I know right! This game was a better overall game than FF8 but since FF is the flagship title for Square some titles got the short end of the stick. It is unfortunate that Xenogears took the brunt of it.

Do i understand why Square did this...of course, but do i agree with it....absolutely not. However like i said even with the 'condensed' nature of the 2nd disc, i still consider Xenogears to be my all time favorite game. The title as a 'whole' (story, music, characters, battle system) did more than enough to convince me that this game was worth every minute i spent with it.
