Is Skyrim’s Dragonborn DLC Worth Your Money?

With the first major expansion now out for fantasy epic Skyrim, Elder Scrolls veteran Jonathan Szafran delves back into the hit RPG to see if the trip to the island of Solstheim is one worth taking. (Bethesda Game Studios, Culture, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Dragonborn DLC, PC, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Xbox 360)

I'm still waiting on it to come to PS3.

The author says in the article that he'd actually been playing Skyrim on the PS3 for a year - and he picked up an Xbox360 copy and started from scratch just for Dragonborn! Dedication right there...

Stupidity actually. People like him are the exact reason ridiculous exclusive DLC will keep happening, he's proving it works.

@Basjohn seems to work as well as a game. Don't tell me Sony isn't responsible for this either, two words, Assassin's Creed.

I'm sorry to say but it isn't coming to PS3 anytime soon man. They even said it. That's why Dawnguard is taking so long.

The problem is they shouldn't have even made it for PS3. It has so many bugs in it for the PS3 version. They said its a nightmare even to make a DLC for it. So if you wanna play it you might wanna ask Santa to bring you a Xbox.

Sorry to be the one to break the news. :(

And hey don't hate on the DLC. I love all of them and hope they keep them coming. Shoulda bought a Xbox. They even said the Xbox gets everything first in a lot of games now. So don't hate just join the team. :)

Can't wait for PS3 DLC and more areas to explore.

I'm torn. I really want to try this DLC out but i can't for the life of me give anymore money to Bethesda after screwing up the PS3 version so badly.

It seems like it's getting good reviews, for DLC. Now I'll just have to wait until they release it on Steam to try it out for myself.

I'll get it on PC and see whether or not it is worth my cash. If so it will likely be on the lower end of the "worth it" spectrum. Usually DLC isn't known for getting the most out of your dollar which is why I typically never buy any. 20 dollars for DLC is also a little pricey. By then I would have paid 80 dollars total for this game and that doesn't include the other DLC pieces currently available.

Basjohn, Your comment is absurd … timed exclusives are for 30 days “NOT 6 MONTHS” so what this person did is completely justified. Are you so dense to not realize MS actually got screwed on their deal since it only affected the PC release and that the PS3 release would NOT have happened deal or no deal.
For the rest of you … you would rather pay $60 for a new 20 hour game than $20 for an additional 10 – 30 hours on one of the best games (even with its faults) to date?

I would! And I just got the DLC downloaded days ago. I'm just now starting to play. I've been so focused on Borderlands 2 I think I need rehab for it. :)

i will get this expo eventually

steam should have it on sale soon, maybe pay $5

with so many mods available, its hard to justify spending money on something that probably isnt even as good as some of the big player made mods
