New Android console eSfere goes up against Ouya, offers matching decorative vases as incentive

Edge - Ouya is no longer the only Android console vying for your attention – and funding pledges. Unlike its open-source competitor, though, which is courting bespoke projects, the eSfere focuses on making existing Android games playable on large-screen TVs.

i'm sick of this all android console based shit

Captain Tuttle1954d ago

so bitter.

It'll be interesting to see where these things go. I think that ultimately they'll just be a blip on the radar, a curiosity that we look back on in 5 years or so. Who knows though, disrupting devices are usually a good thing.

with the recently released google chrome laptop i can see google wanting to push the android OS onto many things. Who knows, maybe the steam-box will be android based?

I mean ist the droid Os a variant of linux to begin with? They call it droid because google wanted a cool name maybe?

Isnt the basis for the vita OS android influenced? im affraid i dont follow all the finer details of things but pretty much everything is a derivative of something else. Just fine tuned to whatever that company is doing with it.

Ideas and influences are generally taken/borrowed from something else.

double post

Guys, please change the name of the console. Its so bad, I forgot it as soon as I read it. I know its supposed to be E-SPHERE, but you have to double take 5 times when you read the name like you have it to realize its E-SPHERE.

Why release another console with an identical chip? At least upgrade to Tegra 4 or something... They selling vases with this thing? wtf.... put the money where it counts... into the console hardware.
