Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale Review - The Gamers Hub

For years gamers have always pondered with the idea of Sony attempting something like Super Smash Bros. There’s more than enough first-party titles or classic unofficial PlayStation mascots to draw up an impressive roster, but could they make a game that’s as fun as the chaos of Super Smash Bros without totally ripping it off? Well, now they’ve gone and given it a go thanks to SuperBot Entertainment’s efforts with PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. And, although you may think it’s a Super Smash Bros. rip-off, it’s unique gameplay sets it apart from Nintendo’s brawler and places it in a league of its own. (PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, PS Vita, PS3) 4.5/5

I went back to play SSBB and found that PSABR did it right. All characters unlocked right away means everyone has the same chance to learn more about them and evens the playing field. With that in mind the game is ALL about playing online. Matchmaking actually works, so if you're good you fight some good matches.

I dominated my first few fights last night and ranked up, then got wooped on when everyone was my rank or higher. Makes for a humbling, yet awesome experience.
