Persona 4 Golden Review: A Little Help From My Friends | Polygon

Persona 4 Golden is more than a retread of past glory.

It takes the core story and formula of the original Persona 4, but it builds on it in myriad brilliant ways — from the much more welcoming combat mechanics to a story whose few plot holes have been filled.

It's the tightest, best-written, and most must-play game Atlus has ever created.

Persona 4 started as a strong, singular RPG; with Persona 4 Golden, it is a masterpiece.

This game is absolute garbage because its a port. If it was for a Nintendo handheld it would be much better like Orcania of Time 3D.

-sarcasm- ROFL

I cant wait to get my hands on this gem of a game.

I'll have to make this a mission the next time I blow through Tokyo.

Hopefully soon, given the limited availability.

We might only be in March, but it seems like we've already got tons of great games to be talking about, including Dead Space, Resident Evil 4, Hi-Fi Rush, Persona 4 Golden, and Metroid Prime Remastered. There is one commonality between those games, however - most of them are remakes and remasters.

I don't usually buy Switch games until the holidays when they have the elusive sale.

Can't blame you there. The bargains don't come too often on the eShop, that's for sure.

I feel like they're getting stingier and stingier, at this point, if the game is on something else, I'd rather buy it there where it's cheaper.

Already own physical versions of Persona 5 Royal and Persona 5 Strikers along with digital versions of Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden on Switch. Will definitely double dip if physical versions of Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden.
