LOL on the Bonnie Tyler quote. Thank you thank you for this guide. Its really a tough job for a noob like myself to choose a character in Dota 2. THERE ARE SO MANY! Sheesh. What's your favourite character, btw?

I'd normally suggest heroes with a good escape skill or stun skill. The easiest way I understood the mechanics of DOTA was when I was more alive and a stun or any means to escape "feeding" was more than enough for me at the time.

Now I mostly main and fav Darkseer. Apparently not many people know how to use him but I just had a connection with the hero.

I am finding these articles so useful especially because I am going to start DoTA-ing soon and have played a total of 1 game in my life ever (I got first blood though. People got mad.)

I dont even play DOTA, but I still enjoyed the funny write up. Nice work Citizen Bob

dwarven Sniper is a great starter hero, as well as Clinks, and Sven as well. Their spells and abilities are reasonably easy to understand use reasonably effectively for beginners...

I wanna try Dota 2. But the Moba community in general is just a bit elitist and unwelcoming to newcomers from previous experiences with Hon and the wc3 mod.

You are right, its a hard community to get into. That's why we need article like this to help get that knowledge for that steep learning curve. People rage when you don't do what you are "supposed to".
