The Smartest and Dumbest Things Microsoft Did in 2012

Kotaku - As the year winds to a close, it's becoming possible to get some perspective on just what happened in gaming this year. If promises were kept, expectations met, games loved, or trends followed. What exactly were the major companies up to in 2012? (Microsoft, Xbox 360)

So you don't like Windows 8? Ok. Not sure why that makes the "dumbest things" list. You think MS is going to lose money on this? That it's somehow not a sound business decision? They really do nothing to explain why they think it's dumb, only linking to an article from someone who didn't like it. You'd think if they were going to include Windows 8 in the article, they'd at least back it up with an explanation of why it's included, not "Read a piece from one guy who didn't like Windows 8".

And Halo Playtime rewards? Really? You're really going to complain about gamers getting free stuff from MS? I suppose you'd prefer nothing?

It's like Kotaku isn't even trying. When was the last time anyone saw anything relevant or read something insightful from this site?

"The smartest and dumbest things Kotaku did in 2012"

Anyone willing to write this one up?

I'd love to, but doing anything related to or involving Kotaku is a waste of time, and there are PLENTY of better ways I can imagine wasting my time that don't include Kotaku.
