"When I woke up on Saturday morning to the news that Dark Souls 2 was on the way I literally leaped out of bed with joy, but ever since I actually watched the trailer and read Edge magazine's teaser for their forthcoming Dark Souls 2 issue, there has been a fine mist of unease settling in my brain. Of course it's ridiculously early to be passing judgement on the game - I've not seen it, obviously, and it's faintly ridiculous to be worrying already. But I can't help it. I care too much."
And FROM has such a long history of radically changing core elements of their games.
Oh, wait: that's all ****ing wrong.
Why is accessibility bad? For all we know, that could mean a more refined combat system, a more refined online system, and a more refined game world.
Why is "it's like Skyrim" bad? Isn't Skyrim one of the most-loved games of the past few years? Combine the challenge, depth, enemy design, and combat of Dark Souls with the expansive world of Skyrim and I think you'd have a winner.
Your joking right...
FF13, RE5, RE6, Dead Space 3, DmC...hell even Skyrim was accessible and it wasn't as good as Oblivion when it came to a challnege, instead of expanding on things they took them out.
Come on man...accessibility is bad and despite them doing this to this franchise to "save" it, there going to be the ones to kill it.
What, are people honestly asking for WORSE controls, GLITCHIER enemies, LAGGIER online, and CHEAPER online combat? Because those are the main issues that plagued Dark Souls and Demon's Souls, and that is what "less accessible" would look like.
I'd certainly buy that game. Skyrim's combat sucked big time, and so do scaling enemies.
People seem to think "accessible" means "easy" or "watered down", which it doesn't.
you did not read the article did you?
Worry about your Kids/Wife/Husband/Family/Frien ds/Partner.... so much more important...no?
*Edit
ROFL ...That's why I'd hate to be stuck (Desert Island) somewhere with an obsessive gamer...quite possibly the most self serving, selfish people to walk Gods Green Earth!
Them and Iphone zealots lulz ;)
Did you worry Dark Souls didnt have the Demons Souls name?
So long as they dont break the mechanics for the casual crowd, no worries.
And Demon's Souls and Dark Souls' director is supervising the game and I highly doubt he would just let them casualize his baby.
And it was actually the Edge's journalist who brought up The Elder Scrolls series. He hopes that the Souls series would become as popular as it someday.
Different director and attempt to appeal to the masses should certainly worry long time fans.
Gaming really doesn't need Dark Souls selling out due to appeal
Apparently not.
The majority of gamers today think a game has to be ACCESSIBLE to everyone, so anyone can pick it up and play, like Halo, COD or Angry Birds in order to sell.
I for one cant wait to play Dark Souls 3 with my gram-ma.....I also want to be able to walk into my local convenience store and grab some Dark Souls Doritos and Soul Power Dew....
They didn't disappoint with both games so far and they do have us the actual people who play the game in mind so they have me sold no matter what idiots publish shit articles.
they are one of the firsts to love the direction of making games easy to review them faster ...
this way they will get more sales and we the fans will get what we want
2. i really hope they don't screw the game's difficulty and make it noob friendly!
3. that's just stupid, the trailer and the music were EPIC!
4. there are some similarities, but DS2 will stil have that unique dark gritty atmosphere, also, i think DS2 is actually a prequel? hinch the dragons, even on the knights helm there is a portray of man fighting a dragon? but i could be wrong
