Push Square: "Launching five years after its original Xbox 360 debut, Mass Effect has finally landed on the PlayStation 3, completing the series' sci-fi trilogy on Sony's console. However, the title's late arrival places it in an awkward position, destined to be judged against the sequels it spawned. Has the classic aged gracefully? Not entirely." 6/10
No, if its the exact same game, it should get the exact same score.
Think of it this way: nobody retro reviews Super Mario Bros. by the standard of the new games. You review a game for what it is, not for what you wanted it to be, not for what other games are.
Yes I have played it on pc and 360 and let me tell you the ps3 version in hands down better than the 360
ME1 ps3 version have ME2-3 kits unlike the xbox version and pc.
haters might hate but that doesnt change the fact that ME1 best version is on the ps3 end of story.
If is some one days otherwise the are full of bs
It would be totally fair to give the sequels higher scores if the author deemed them worthy, since reviews are ultimately opinion pieces.
Basically, this game is well worth the $15 it cost to purchase. If you've played 2 and 3, this is a no brainer. Small audio issues aside, I can see why fans prefer 1 to it's sequels.
If you don't have ME1 on the PS3 and have 2 and 3, BUY THIS NOW.
"the gameplay is a stark reminder of how far the series has progressed since 2007." More like degressed.
I also don't understand the problems everyone seems to have with shooting, I played as a soldier from day 1 and I never had a problem with it, and how does the author have trouble with overheating as opposed to ammo clips? That just makes no sense...if you see it going to high stop shooting for 2 seconds dang.
Also the comments on the bottom show how far the gaming industry has come to spoon feed you...someone complaining that a sniper rifle is harder to use in 1 than they are use to in 2 and 3 ...A SNIPER RIFLE!
Everytime I read a article about Mass Effect nowadays all I get is anger rising inside me for what Bioware did to my favorite franchise.
