Machinima's Inside Gaming Awards 2012: Highlights, Winners, and Video Recap

GameDynamo - "The Machinima Inside Gaming Awards (IGA) was one of my favorite gaming events of last year, and it was even more amazing this year. This is the second one we've attended, and it was a remarkable celebration of the best of gaming. Taking place at the Avalon in Hollywood, the Fourth IGA was a brilliant climax to a brilliant year of gaming." (3DS, Android, Assassin's Creed III, Culture, Halo 4, Industry, iPad, iPhone, Mass Effect 3, PC, PS Vita, PS3, The Walking Dead Video Game, Wii, Wii U, Xbox 360)

Halo 4 received GOTY.

Unlike the VGA awards what a waste of a show.

I found VGA winners to be spot on this year even though all the other bullshit they always do sucked.
Even though I like how spec ops the line got recognized for it's narrative even though I TWD's narrative.

Awesome video! I've never heard of Hotline Miami either.

Why no Persona 4 love? Both Arena and Golden should have won something.

I hate Machinima. They are full of Halo and Call Of Duty fanboys[not that i hate Halo, i actually think Halo 4 is a great Game Of The Year contender]. They only cover up those two games.
Needsy  +   191d ago
That's a fairly misguided view. Of course there are gunna be massive fans of Halo and COD at a company that is based around gaming cause they are the 2 biggest franchises of the past decade, but Machinima do more to bring indie and underground games and company's to the gaming publics knowledge. It's a bit hard to see that at the moment though seeing as the two biggest games of the year (at least units sold wise) Halo 4 and Black Ops 2 dropped a month ago and the hype around them is still huge heading into the IGA this year

hey Needsy, yeah, it was great to see games like Hotline Miami, Tokyo Jungle, Fez, and others get more attention during the ceremony. Plus, I always enjoy seeing the new films the Machinima directors make. all in all, a great show.

hey th3n00bg4m3r, I'm the writer of the article for GD and I actually found the nominations to be pretty well balanced. A lot of great games were well represented and the awards were well distributed between games outside of the COD and Halo franchise. I talk about it in my article, but I was surprised to see Spec Ops win best narrative and Hotline Miami take the award for most original game. The show was really great and I highly recommend you also watch the broadcast online. Thanks for taking the time to write!
