Playstation Vita users seem to be mostly satisfied with their devices, but the problem is there are not as many users as Sony had hoped for, which could result in a price cut as the only thing to save the system.
The memory cards need to be cheaper more than anything. The value provided by the hardware and software, including ps plus, is enough to justify the price. This of course is just my opinion. I'd like to read everyone else's opinion on this matter.
The 8 gigs (I own) have held up well. :) And, yes, SCE still needs to lower the barrier of entry on VITA. Now (more than ever) as people shift from current gen either to next gen consoles and/or mobile, SCE needs to start re-thinking their vita strategy. There is a butt-ton of migration STILL going on from consumers who are looking for some new form of entertainment they can enjoy. With VITA's software library fleshing out, the device is starting to look like its hitting its stride but it needs help from SCE. SCE need to look at how successful amazons $180 VITA bundle did (sold out in under 5 hours of posting!) and they need to try and emulate that success on the world stage.
Definitely memory cards are a big problem. Sony should cut their price drastically or allow third party manufacturers to release their own. Also some big Vita Exclusive hits are needed ASAP: Metal Gear, Gran Turismo, Final Fantasy, God Of War, etc.
Agree with you and disagree at the same time. YEs no doubt that the memory cards are a little bit overpriced, but when you think of a console do you think in the memory card? maybe after some though, yes you reach the part of the memory cards, but not right away, so I think a price drop would do wonders for the vita. The memory cards it's just a pain in the arse but for the price drop why not? leave them be. As for the agreement, no doubt I'm with you, Gran Turismo, GTA and a fu ck ing Final Fantasy on this machine would sky high it!! But I don't know were sony has it's head... people buy this machines to play those games... not litle deviants or modnation racers..
I'm with you about these games. But, people will try to kill us for bashing these kiddie games.
what is playstation omni again?
not sure if you're being sarcastic or not - it's how they call the ps4
its not called "orbis"? like in "Orbis Vita"(Circle of life)?
Geez guys, just google it and stop disagreeing for no reason (although this is n4g so I expect even more disagrees - wouldn't feel like n4g otherwise). And yes, so far it's only a rumor.
i thought ps4 code name is Orbis not Omni
The rumor said the code name of orbis was omni.
OMG cant those retarded journalist understand the PSVita is not like the cheap POS 3DS with its crap technology? the price cant be lowered just like that. if sony is not doing what they want?, what does that mean? SONY IS SATISFIED!!
A lower price for the Vita would help. Obviously. But the main thing Sony needs to do to move more Vitas is A) more regular retail releases and B) more regular digital releases. Going weeks, or even months without giving the Vita anything on the PSN does nothing but discourage Sony's PS3 userbase, and going weeks or even months without putting any new games on store shelves doesn't do much to encourage casual consumers who see the same handful of games on the shelf every time they hazard the Vita section a glance.
They just need more games! The highest rated game (honestly the only REALLY well received non-download title) is the PORT of persona 4... While it is an AWESOME game, where are the first party games this console deserves? I love my vita... But without good games even a price drop will only help so much... Like previous posters said... Where's the vita final fantasy (lol, like this will happen before 6 years from now), the god of war, or a FPS that works even somewhat well? I understand 3rd party developers are hesitant. But without a soli library of serious games, good luck moving them at any price. Sony needs to bite the bullet and pay enough to a 3rd party to convince them to develop something solid regardless of potential sales. Or guarantee them up to a certain amount of revenue. Don't know how feasible that is. But the system is powerful enough for WAY better games than what we have and there should be way more announced games in the pipeline for us to look forward to other than killzone which could still be 1.5-2 years out...
