VGAs 2012: The Phantom Pain is Kojima's Phantom

The first unknown game of the evening was a very mysterious game with a man waking out of a coma in an English hospital held by either eastern European or Russian soldiers. In the background of the trailer, people were levitating and burning alive giving the thought that this game has to deal with some kind of paranormal plot. From the brand new Moby Dick Studio as their debut title, The Phantom Pain looks interesting but I wanted to know what it was really about so I guess their video editors did a good job. (Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Moby Dick Studio, PC, PS3, Wii U, Xbox 360)

Everything about that trailer was metal gear solid or more specifically snake. Look at his hair, the headband, his facial hair, even the way he was running.

By headband I meant his bandage sorry

I bet googling "The Phantom Pain" gives lots of hits about Star Wars: Episode 1

I didn't connect the characters but with the way things were going on in the video the first person I thought of was Hideo

Hes too skinny to be snake
ANIALATOR136  +   682d ago
no he's not. MGS4 snake was about the same physique maybe just a bit fatter. And being in a hospital is going to leave you looking thinner than usual

Its sad that people are hoping that its MGS related and not a brand new IP...are you people not sick of playing the same character universe over and over?

Also another thing that will be sad is that MGS fans will downplay this game when its confirmed its not MGS related and its multiplat just like they did with MG Raising.

MGS is a good franchise but let Kojima work on something new...they guy has ideas that he ca implement into MGS because it already had a story and history.

And that's where you then member that this is likely Kojima, so everything you once believe will eventually be proven completely wrong. He is a master of the mind rape technique.

What does the voice over say really fast at the end of the trailer?

V has to come or V has to happen sorry don't remember got it from a forum just now. Meaning MGS V has to happen. Kojima is making 2 meta gear solid games with FOX engine this and ground zeros or just 1 game and he lied trolling us fans.

Awesome thanks! Every video I found had that part cut out, was beginning to think I didn't really hear anything lol

I'm pretty sure it's MGS related.

This is defiantly a next generation game because of the characters graphics , look at the hair o.o , GZ looks amazing , this looks even better , these two games will be masterpieces :P
munish23  +   682d ago
It really doesn't scream next-gen to me. Looks current, but then again maybe the earlier games won't blow us away like this gen did at the beginning.

The video isn't in HD so it doesn't show the real graphics , next generation may not have big improvements in graphics but it will have better performance , this may play 60fps with that graphics, and it could be more like open world just like ground zero :) , it's possible , it's easy to do it if it works on a strong console , it doesn't need big talent to have that , just look at cod lol..

gameplay evolve would be more reasonable and impressive then graphics this time :P

ground zeros and phantom pain could be chapters in metal gear solid 5 (just my thoughts) i cant see him working on 2 games as he likes to get invovled quit alot and theres only so much time 1 person has, also konami has asked him to work on a new silent hill which could be awesome.
