Spike’s Video Game Awards 2012 Impressions

The Tyuno Project: "What’s up gamers, this is Tyuno The Great! On December 7, Spike TV showcased their annual Video Game Awards 2012. Some of the biggest names in the video game industry all came together to celebrate gaming and to see which games were the best in 2012. Personally, I look forward to the VGA every year to see new trailers of upcoming games, but of course there are some gamers that have a negative input on the VGAs. Some people believe that the VGAs is just a gimmick and is not a legit serious awards show. So that being said, was the 2012 10th annual Video Game Awards a success or a complete fail?"

Better then last year but the show would be better without pointless celebrity's. Its downright insulting that some of the awards were given out at the red carpet like here is your award now gtfo. Last of us stole the show once again with Darks souls 2 reveal being close second. With Last of us being released in may i think we can expect the ps4 in Q3/Q4 2013.

I really hated the fact that some of the awards were given during interviews. If people were watching it on TV rather than from a stream, they didn't see the winner. Also they spent so much time on having Samuel L. Jackson do random cameos in games such as The Walking Dead, that they didn't even announce every award such as best racing game which went to NFS: Most Wanted. Don't get me wrong though, they were funny but this is an award show so they should show every award so that viewers could see the hard work and dedication that a developer put into making their game.

How to make the show better.

1. More (longer) World Premieres
2. Less Performances (unless accompanied by a Trailer, like the Orchestras)
3. Less Celebrity moments (get them on stage, present the award, and off)
4. Actually show the awards, but make acceptance speech 2 minutes or less

Bullshit. All they showed from last of us was mostly more cut scenes. Best game they showed was Phantom pain. It clearly looked better than anything else. You guys need to stop with the nonsense. Bro, even the cut scenes are pre rendered IN GAME. Naughty Dog has never used CGI or any of that bullshit in a trailer for their game. They use pre-rendered in game imagines so that when you do go from cut scene to actual gameplay, it looks identical. Let me show you some of this in game footage which you believe doesn't look good.

lol there has been alot of gameplay videos for the last of us
we all know what the game look like and by the way all ND games use pre rendered in-game gfx
they never do CG
that's why the cutscene and the gameplay looks identical in uncharted games/the last of us

and that trailer showed alot of gameplay which you think a CG
it only show how much incredible the gfx look

go to neogaf and look at the last of us VGA GIFS that show gameplay from the trailer and say again it doesn't look incredible

They were still cut scenes regardless of what or how they used them. Very little gameplay was shown. Same with Phantom pain but what they showed clearly looked better than anything else. That was a next gen engine for sure. The last of us looks good but it's not on the same level as Phantom pain. At least not from what we have seen so far. Sorry, but it's the truth.

You said it yourself regarding Phantom Pain. "That was a next gen engine for sure". Now, it's been said on their website that it's on PS3/Xbox 360, but that footage shown was probably PC gameplay. Can't compare a console game to a pc game.
