Geoff would never let the cat out of the bad because he's probably under restrictions from the publisher. I really don't get why they keep playing these secretive games. We will eventually find out one way or another. The game industry is such a wacky environment.
I know, right? I don't see how this generates more buzz than just showing the actual game... what's the point? Especially when they make it THIS obvious.
Its sad that people are hoping that its MGS related and not a brand new IP...are you people not sick of playing the same character universe over and over?
Also another thing that will be sad is that MGS fans will downplay this game when its confirmed its not MGS related and its multiplat like they did with MG Raising.
MGS is a good franchise but let Kojima work on something new...they guy has ideas that he ca implement into MGS because it already had a story and history.
It has to be Metal Gear Solid 5, like it or not, that's how it is. Anybody who doesn't agree obviously hasn't played MGS 1-4. So many hints are dropped, and you wouldn't get most if you haven't played them. Why would I be tired of playing in the same universe over and over, if every game adds something new to it. It's not like Call of Duty where nothing major really changes. There is so much story left untold that us fans want to know.
Yeah, it's not a matter of whether or not people want a new IP or another Metal Gear. All the evidence is pointing pretty obviously to a another Metal Gear game.
I agree with forgottenprophecy. I have not played any of the MGS games and I had no clue what the hell was going on in the trailer. It did seem like a trailer where certain people will get what was happening because it related to another source.
He simply states that it is something that hasn't been "shown" before, not that its a new IP... In no way does does his tweet refute the MGS V theories because MGS V hasn't been shown before. He is playing with words (poorly) so he doesn't look like a liar when the the truth comes out.
Fact is kojima tweeted pictures of the mocap sessions for the car crash, the horse and nurse. Its no coincedence.
I still call bullshit the fact that there is like no info on the developer has never happend. When i googled superbot after the vga reveal of pasbr they had a site and everything up. Also the studios head honcho is called Joakim.
This is either the greatest bit of coincidence in the history of gaming... Or it's MGS5...
there is so much pointing towards it. Hard to deny it really. The scar on his missing eye, he looks like Snake, the cutout in the logo, seemingly using the FOX Engine, the "Two Phantoms Born", Joakim Mogren (Kojima M-Orge-N)
As I said, this is going to be some serious "similarities" if it is a different game...
I agree when I watched the trailer in tv and they showed the wounded soldier face the first thing I thought was that looks like solid snake and I just chalked it up to a coincidence.. But know that I think about it sure was a lot of sneaking going on in that trailer lol.
Perhaps "From FOX, two phantoms were born" is a reference to Solid&Liquid and at the same time a reference to 2 games running on the FOX engine. One with Snake (MGS:GZ) and one with Liquid, as phantom pain is also a medical term, a form of pain people still can have in a part of their body after it's amputated, so a reference to Liquid's severed hand.
Its just odd how a "new" studio with no information what's so ever comes out of the VGAs with a reveal.....its either a Kojima troll (which I don't get why) or its a really weird publicity stunt which seems to have worked.
Their's too many signs pointing towards MGS, one of them was the spelling of Metal Gear Solid 5, the character looks almost exactly as Big Boss.
"Phantom Pain" i'm pretty sure it could be related to "From FOX, two Phantoms were born" which was from the MGS GZ trailer. Right now i thin it relates to MGS GZ or MGS 5.
No. But he is a journalist, right? Reporters report. He has flagrantly disregarded his journalistic responsibilities numerous times in order to become a video game industry "star".
It has to be a new MGS. Aside from what's already been stated above, Keighley mentioned that one of the big reveals would be cryptic and appeal to old school gamers. Considering the conspiracy surrounding this trailer and that MG has been around since 1987, I'd say it fits the criteria. None of the other big reveals would apply to old school gamers.
but that was a sequel to a current gen game! I was expecting something really old-shool like Megaman or that rumored 2D Ninja Gaiden game that Team Ninja is developing. ;___;
Why can't some people catch little nuances in language and take things too liretal all the time, is beyond me. He didn't explicitly say "It was not Metal Gear Solid 5." right, do we agree on that? Good.
Now let's take the second step: he said "it's a completely new game". If it's MGS 5 indeed, is it going to be a new game, different than Ground Zeroes? Yeah, it will be, right? Okay, move on to the next step.
He also added that it's a "never seen footage". This might actually imply that the game is indeed not Ground Zeroes, as they showed 10 friggin' minutes of GZ gameplay to the whole world of gaming already. So, can it be something new, something not revealed so far, like... you guessed it: Mettaru Giruu Fayuvvv?
Jesus people... "Geoff said it's not MGS so it can't be!" I don't see him saying something like that. If he implied anything at all, it's that the game was indeed Metal Gear Solid 5.
Some of you are trying too hard. The evidence is so overwhelming that stating it's not an MGS game at this point, is not even funny.

Wow... nice catch there. You must have played a lot of the Batman Arkham series to figure that out.

That wouldn't be fun for anyone.
Obviously Mantis is fucking with Big Bosses mind
