What’s So Great About LIMBO?

After spending two years too long without experiencing the revolutionary indie darling, Gamers-Association.com editor Nick Cane finally picked up and played through Limbo...And didn't like it one bit. Read on to find out why. (Limbo, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

I love games that don't hold the players hands all the way through. It doesn't need all that flash and explosions either. This was a great little game much like Braid.

Jesus, what a godawful review. I don't think anyone has ever missed the mark by that much. LIMBO was fantastic. It looked fantastic, sounded fantastic, played fantastic. Try a little harder to be cool, why don't you.

I agree with you!! How dare he have different opinion then you and I about this game. The game was fantastic!! Anybody who doesn't believe the game is awesome, is just a wanna be hipster reviewer trying to get hits for his website. Seriously yours and my opinion are the defacto review of this game, screw anybody else's opinion, they aren't allowed to have any. He can't be as cool as you and I!!

Limbo is a great game!
It was very inventive & creative with its style.
The music is fitting to the overall game & enjoyable.
The gameplay is tight, addictive & fun.
& the story is comprehensive.

Is it REALLY that questionable that a game that nails all those qualities could be considered anything less than, well, "great"?
One of the top indie games this gen!

"One of the top indie games this gen!"

Absolutley agree. I was skeptical at first, as it was a really popular game, and I immediately thought of some weird fad type of thing.

I ended up buying it this year so I could finally see what all the fuss was about. It blew me away. Absolutely amazing. The feelings I got from the morbidity of children impaled and hanging, just evil silhouettes.

The puzzles were extremely difficult later on, and the game took no prisoners with those gravity ones. Overall I'd give it a 10/10.

If people are wondering what all the fuss is with games like Limbo or Journey, they should give them a try. I never knew I could fall in love with something so seemingly basic yet in its own special way, complex.

Are you kidding? Fundamentally broken my ass. If it was fundamentally broken I think someone would've said it before you. And no one has. Really, there's a difference between inability to complete puzzles and brokenness.

It had a great art style. Other than that nothing. Very short. Very boring.

"What LIMBO does is try to goad you into thinking the solution is a traditional one; you know, The Solution you’ve played before. And thennn is flips it on you"

So, what you're saying, is you'r punishing the game for not having generic puzzles with generic solutions? You under think the puzzle, fail, and blame it on the game.
Congrats sir. Well played.

LIMBO is more of a experience than a game.
Much like Journey and flower.
