BioShock Vita development is up to Take-Two and Sony, says Levine

A BioShock title for Vita is something Irrational’s Ken Levine is still interested in developing. (BioShock, Ken Levine, PS Vita, Sony)

I don't think Sony would have a problem with this, so really it's up to Take Two

If it happens Ken wants to do it himself he said that a while back.

Bitching about Nihilistic isn't fair, IMO. Resistance wasn't what it should have been, but they did a good job on CoD. The gameplay was there, the visuals were there, and the rest was probably a decision made by Activision/Sony (game direction, story mode, and stuff). They need a designer or story writer, but the rest should be OK.

they where so adamant that they had to use the stupid game engine they came up with witch might have hurt them.
SolidGear3  +   816d ago
It's Ken Levine! No worries!

Take-Two is not sure the game will have enough sales on Vita to justify development costs, so they are probably expecting Sony to take the risk and pay for those development costs.

Time to all buy Vitas to show them how well it would do then.

I guess I will buy a second...

Well said both of you.

Vita owners are very dedicated, and would most likely support it (by buying it). The problem is, are there enough people who would buy it for it to make money?

It is risky, for both 2K and Sony. So, understandibly so, it is a complicated issue to sort out an agreement that works out for both parties.

Hopefully this Christmas season sees a massive increase in Vita sales. Maybe if you buy a PS3 you get a discount on a Vita also? I don't know, we will see.

I'll be buying a Vita soon after New Years so they have my support

Honestly, I'm going to lose all faith in the gaming community if the Vita doesn't pick up sales in the next year. It's such an amazing device, and if people can't see that it's clear gaming isn't what it used to be. This is coming from a gamer who's gone through pretty much every generation from the first Nintendo. I've played most systems and handhelds out there, and have to say the Vita is without a doubt the best handheld I've ever used, it's dang near the best system I've ever used...

A big reason I bought a vita was for Bioshock Vita. I'm going to be very pissed if it gets cancelled.
bayonetta  +   817d ago
I do not think Sony will reject this thing
Vita Need a games
Genecalypse  +   817d ago

Hicken  +   816d ago
Based on what?

Air?
Genecalypse  +   816d ago
Based on poor sales
SolidGear3  +   816d ago
BioShock equals profits. It's a win for everyone. Sony, Take-Two, Irrational, Vita and the fans.
MattyG  +   817d ago
It'll happen. WHEN it happens is a whole nother issue.
j4re  +   816d ago
This needs to happen. Something needs to happen. BioShock would be huge.
fOrlOnhOpe57  +   816d ago
And while 2K and Sony are discussing game development on the Vita....for gods sake put. a Borderlands 2 port on the agenda - please. Then watch vita sales go.
KMCROC  +   816d ago
Isn't that Gearbox. Yes I know its published by T2 but it will be the same scenario who will pay the cost & is it worth the money ,time.
Sclavius  +   816d ago
Shoot if they made bioshock vita I would buy a vita right now. The Vita is an awesome mschine but Uncharted and Gravity Rush on their own don't make me want to get one as good as they may be. Give me God of War, give me a sweet new IP.

I have a felling they are going sell out an half ass port the way the devs always been doing to the vita for over a year now. they find out that the vita is not all shape up to be like the home consoles and then they automatically just give up. I know you guys have some small hurdles to overcome but damn. give it the time in needs and do your best.
