Platinum and KojiPro on partnership: 'We'd love to do it again'

Joystiq: "The build of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance shown off this week at a press event in Los Angeles was essentially complete, and while the game itself won't be released until February, finished product means that the collaboration between Kojima Productions (represented at the event by producer Yuji Korekado) and Platinum Games (represented by producer Atsushi Inaba) is also done. So when Joystiq sat down to chat with them, we only had one important question: How'd it go?" (Industry, Kojima Productions, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, PlatinumGames)

Why couldn't Kojima put in a good word for them with Konami so they would publish Bayonetta 2...least then it would be on all consoles.

I don't know much about the situation. But, I imagine Bayonetta 2 will come to the PS3 and 360 at some point.
Jinkies  +   1030d ago
I know people say it won't because "It's published my Nintendo" but theres no way Platnium Games wouldn't want the game out on other platforms. I know the game wouldn't exsist without Nintendo but as someone who got it for the 360 I just feel like I've been slapped in the face, Nintendo might of made Bayonetta 2 possible but the reason why it was even considered in the first place was because of the fans who bought it on the PS3/360.

I don't think it will come to other consoles this gen, I think we might have to wait untill next gen. Least then if it does happen people will get a better, improved version with extras included on the disc.

the problem aint that it was funded by nintendo its that the IP was brought by nintendo so this wont happen.
MariaHelFutura  +   1030d ago
Didn't know that, thanks.

If it's exclusive, I'm willing to bet that nobody wanted to publish it and Nintendo took it upon themselves to publish it, hence why it is exclusive. Probably due to them wanting to appeal to the hardcore a bit more.

It was a "scratch my back I'll scratch yours situation." You can't blame Platinum Games for anything. It was either be on the Wii U and Nintendo funds it or no Bayonetta 2 at all. I'm pretty sure they wanted it for PS3 and 360 also but with the situation they were in beggars can't be choosers. They just wanted the game to see the light of day.

No thanks. I'd rather have good games rather than mediocre ones from that overrated company. Platinum Games is garbage (much like their games).
Knight_Crawler  +   1030d ago
So you rather have 4 minutes of game play followed by 30 minutes of CGI and then 2 minutes of game play followed by 40 minutes of CGI....

Why not just go to the movies if that what you want to do instead of actually playing a fun video game.
BlaqMagiq24  +   1030d ago
I played the demo and it was one of the best hack and slash experiences I ever had. You wouldn't know a good game if it was shoved up your ass.
Myst  +   1030d ago
I could see it now a rather ambitious story that sets the tone of the entire game with action out the wazoo! Yeah I think I could get behind this and enjoy it. If the story is crafted well and the action will be intense I think I'd enjoy it.

I see another mass effect type deal gonna happen here. Everyone said it will never come to ps3, even though so late in the cycle, it still did.

Metal Gear Revengeance should be put on the Wii-U as well since Platinum Games seems to have a good relationship with Nintendo.

As for this Bayonetta 2 talk, its not happening people. Its a Wii-U exclusive....yes Nintendo is publishing it but its far more than that. They are also helping to financially back it and have Nintendo developers working alongside Platinum. They won't just let a Bayonetta 2 "special edition" show up on other consoles later. They are trying to build their 3rd party relationships and bring core games to Nintendo platforms. The point of Bayonetta 2 being exclusive is to get fans to jump ship from 360 and PS3. And this has also led to them getting the Wonderful 101 as exclusive as well.

Nintendo fans dont buy third party blops 2 had a attach rate of 5%.
Sephiroushin  +   1029d ago
And what has to do Platinum relationship w/ MGR?! Nothing, they are just making the game, Konami is the one who decides if it goes to Wii U ...
CaptainN  +   1030d ago
Um, the system is less than 3 weeks old and sold about 430,000. Do you think every person would buy BO2??? Plus Nintendo players were screwed over so much over the years from third parties, they now have to get the players to respect them again!
fei-hung  +   1030d ago
They aren't screwed over the years. Nintendo chose to make a cheap console so Nintendo customers naturally ended up getting inferior looking games.

3rd party games didn't sell well as Nintendo customers were only interested in Nintendo IPs as a result, 3rd parties backed off.

If anyone, the 3rd party developers were screwed by the customers who didn't support their games.
