PSUni Campus PSA: Violent Games Create Serial Killers

PSUni: "Video games (much like the FBI) are no stranger to controversy. If anyone needed more proof that video games are an artform, look no further than the controversy they cause. Things have been quiet since the fiasco involving Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and the Norway shooter who went on to kill 77 people back into 2011; however with the recent theater shooting by James Holmes stirring up a bit of panic for violent media and the anticipated release of GTA V the zombie of “Think of the children!” is moaning and shambling back into the spotlight.

Is it really the fault of video games though? Or is something else to blame here?" (Culture, Grand Theft Auto V, Industry, PS3, Xbox 360)

If games have turned people into killers then i think they were insane to begin with.
Too many people think that games are the cause of violence in society, but they fail to realise that people have always been violent.
Open a history book from any country, ffs.
Did Hitler and the Nazis plays games before they killed millions? No.
Do terrorists like Al Qaeda play games before murdering people? No.
What about Jack the Ripper, Ted Bundy and Charles Manson? No, no and no.
A lot of things cause people to be violent including bad parenting, politics, religion, people being bullied and the fact that some people are just insane, so i think putting the blame solely on games is wrong.
With that said though, there are certain individuals that become violent only when playing games, not killer violent, but still violent.

Agreed, that is pretty much the whole point of the article, the title is completely satiric.

To be honest that norway shooter was crazy to before video games.
While he was in prison (in a really fancy cell, kitchen exercise room and everything) he complained there wasn't enough butter in his bread and there wasn't enough shaving cream.
