Rockstar Developing Cutting-Edge Engine For Next-Gen Platforms

Rockstar's looking to get set for next-gen, it seems. (Next-Gen, PS3, Rockstar Games, Xbox 360)

You mean RD...3?

i know what you mean man. I would like to see them push into California. The gold rush, and this time...lets have that GTA V cinematics and real train jacking.
denawayne  +   682d ago
Uh, no, he meant RDR 2. It would then be RD 3.
GiantFriendlyCrab  +   682d ago
no i meant red dead redemption 2

Rockstar had very little to do with Red Dead Revolver. It was originally a Capcom game...and they cancelled it, though it was mostly done. Rockstar bought it, added some of their own elements, and co-published it. So in reality, RD:Redemption was their first RD game....or the only one that counts.

Not sure why you got disagrees, because it's true imo, Naughty Dog are amazing too, love Uncharted.

This is what I love to hear! I hate when all games look the same and feel the same. New engines are very welcome.
denawayne  +   682d ago
This is the exact reason why I've been wanting next gen to come.
FarCryLover182  +   682d ago
We know pretty much nothing about the engine currently, it'd be awesome if it was almost done now and next year at E3, Rockstar San Diego announce the next Red Dead for next-gen as a launch title. That would be amazing (but not really too likely, unfortunately.)

So excited for all these new engines! Next gen is gonna be sweet!

Hmm with the scope, size and massive innovation behind GTAV I see this being a different game or RDR2. As far as a new engine goes its definitely a multiplatform engine that's going to be used across all of of Take 2's games including GTAVI, RDR2 and a new IP(s).

That's why I love Rockstar, Irrational games and Bethesda. They create brand new tech for next gen consoles and first ones to innovate. Unlike others that start out the generation using dated tech and engines.

Either way I'm super excited about a next gen Rockstar game.
