Square Enix teasing secret game announcement for 12/12, could be Star Ocean

Square Enix is teasing a big game announcement that will take place on 12/12. The only hints available at the moment to this mysterious game is that it might take place in space, leading some to believe that it may be a new Star Ocean title.

Could be for systems like 360, PS3, Wii U or even Vita, 3DS, iOS. (3DS, Dev, iPad, iPhone, PS Vita, PS3, Square Enix, Wii U, Xbox 360)

Wait, all the systems? o.o

Or only one of them? Basically saying it could be for any platform since Square Enix has a strong presence on each of them.

If it is, I wouldn't be so happy... Enix has already kind of messed up Final Fantasy, do we really want them messing up anything else?

Speak for yourself. I enjoyed XIII(XIII-2 not as much). And no, I'm not one of "those people" who's new to the franchise, either.

I wouldn't mind another Star Ocean. And maybe one with a larger emphasis on the "ocean" part of the title, giving us more planets to go to.

@Hicken I enjoyed XIII. Really enjoyed it. XIII-2 was a mess, even I admit that.

Star Galaxy... maybe a Star Ocean reboot? Sure, the name isn't as cool, but after SO3 and SO4, the series could really use a reboot.

I know it wasn't everyone's cup of tea but I really enjoyed The Last Hope (International). It dragged on a bit at times but overall it was satisfying. I would love to see a new one with a bit more emphasis on the writing so it doesn't seem as stiff.

Could be an iOS game so don't get very excited.

Star Ocean? Well it could be but didn't Tri-Ace say The Last Hope would be the last in the series? Considering how well it did critically and financially I wouldn't be surprised if they put the series to bed for good.

What i'm expecting: A new IP or something Final Fantasy related.

What i'm hoping: Xenogears 2....'sigh' it's never going to happen...

Though Star Ocean looks like the title at first glace, "Universe Accel Cosmic Drive" was the name of the two Gundam AGE titles for the PSP.

but seriously they need start making quality games again. graphics only get you so far especially with pc's now that blow console graphics out. They're pretty much losing the belt for kings of jrpg now.
