We’re not “scared” of GTA Heists or Battlefield Hardline, says Payday producer

The success of GTA Heists and Battlefield Hardline isn’t putting pressure on Overkill as it prepares to release Payday 2: Crimewatch Edition.

zeal0us3309d ago

I not so sure about Battlefield Hardline being a success.

DarkOcelet3309d ago

Financially, it will be. Critically, Nope.

orakle443309d ago

Critically it already is a success. There is no disputing that. It has a 74 on metacritic, same exact score as Dying Light, and that's been considered a success right? What is up with the hate for Battlefield Hardline?

orakle443309d ago

By the amount of people playing the game, I'd consider it a success. Check out http://bfhstats.com/ plenty of people playing at all times.

DarkOcelet3309d ago

I see it as a huge step backwards in terms of content and fun than BF4 and many BF fans feels like that.

orakle443309d ago (Edited 3309d ago )

Sure there is less guns and tanks and stuff like that, but its not a military shooter. As far as fun is concerned, it's by far the most fun Battlefield for me since Bad Company 2, but that's just my opinion.

mep693309d ago

74 is hardly a score to rave about. Certainly not going to make me go out and buy it.

Clown_Syndr0me3309d ago

If you judge by scores I pity you. Not ad much fun with any shooter since cod4.

orakle443309d ago

I only used its metacritic score to compare it to another success, that is Dying Light.

mep693307d ago

I'm sorry, did you play the last 2 battlefields? The engine used is a joke. A buggy mess and runs poorly (even on high end pc's). So no I'm not taking it from metacritic, I'm taking it from previous experience. And I was talking metaphorical not literally.
PS the only good CoD is the first one.

Heists don't matter.

GTA 5 mattered in 2013.....

I think people are making a much bigger deal of these than what they will actually turn out to be.

Don't hype them up too much, it could lead to disappointment.

* All this WASTED time trying to include something that should have been in from the beginning, could be better spend on GTA6 or the New Red Dead game.

They are wasting resources at this point.

thricetold3309d ago

The only people hating this game is bf diehards who wanted another crappy military shooter with more freakin tanks. Extremely fun game this one is.

They hate this but are begging for bf5 or another bf:bc. Good riddance.

thricetold3309d ago

Edit-

By this game I'm speaking of hardline, NOT payday which is lacking in all kinds of ways compared to gta5 and hardline.

Eh. I'll stick with hardline. Played payday 2 on last gen. Payday 1 felt better

MilkMan3309d ago

They should be. The AI on their games suck major hairy a@@.
Unless you got a bunch of friends the game is useless, which then in my book makes it a one trick pony.
I'm not even a fan of GTA but at least Hardline and GTA have fully formed, and fully conceived games.
Masks alone do not make a game good. (yes I know they added other stuff)

EvilWay3309d ago (Edited 3309d ago )

Well you should be. No one wanted a pay day remake so it will probably sell horriblely

WESKER20153309d ago

your game is junk compared to GTA V, rockstar had no trouble creating a gorgeous open world game at 1080p 30fps, yet you could only muster 720p on some lame shooter for xbox one?, i dont support laziness and incompetence when my hard earned money is involved

Overkill's The Walking Dead will be like Payday, but in a bigger world

The upcoming Walking Dead game in development from the studio behind Payday: The Heist will include cooperative online gameplay and be "Payday-esque," said The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman at a SXSW panel today.

What a risky game to make...

ChronoJoe3327d ago

Not really?

Even if it's bad it's got a good license, if anything the license really mediates a lot of the potential risk. Even bad, licensed games sell moderately well, that's why they continually exist.

Plus, Overkill are a talented studio and I'm confident they can shape this into an enjoyable licensed game, and that's a lot better than we get most of the time!

Jalva3327d ago

The three dots at the end of my comment imply that I was being sarcastic.

ChronoJoe3327d ago

The elipsis you mean?

Would have landed better if it were an obviously risk free game to make... you could really argue both ways with a strong case, so does sarcasm really make sense here? Probably not.
