IGN - 30 Days Later: Halo 4

IGN - The Halo series is known for vast alien landscapes, dramatic battles, sweeping music, and a light dusting of world-shattering explosions. But in a cacophony of fire and smoke, who knew that the most thrilling moments of Halo 4 would be Cortana's shuddered breaths, and Chief's reassurance that everything would be okay?

The story is too old to be commented.

Over all, I was somewhat disappointed with Halo 4. Now, this does not in any way mean that I think it was bad, because it definitely was not. I think they did an amazing job on the graphics, and I think the story and plot were fantastic. The things that I were let down by were the new weapons, I didn't really like them this time around, and of course the multiplayer. I don't think it's bad, but I mean I've played 2 hours or so since release and I don't see myself going back to it any more already. I played the hell out of Halo 3 and Reach, both really amazing. Halo 4 doesn't feel special to me, and I really don't even see it having long legs with the fans either, not when compared to Halo 2 and 3, or even Reach. I don't even hear much about it any more honestly.

It's one of my favourite FPS's of all time, as I judge games on their single player.

I agree with the MP. I might try it out after they released a patch yesterday apparently. No dedicated servers really hurts countries with a small population (Australia, New Zealand), and you get constant lag.

While the new weapons looked quite cool, I didn't really FEEL them. The light rifle felt off. The scattershot felt weak (and is weaker than the boltshot and shotgun, although it shoots faster), the suppressor feels like a more inaccurate assault rifle.

The boltshot was ok (love the charge shot), and the Binary Rifle is amazing.

Overall, I absolutely loved Halo 4. I won't let the MP detract from my experience, as living in Australia, pretty much all MP is laggy anyway :(

Anyways, I'm SR 48. That was from a bit over a week of playing. I gave up after a while. Everyone seemed to ship off onto CoD :(

Reach sucked and you know it. While still fun, Halo 4 far exceeds its replay value.

And I know it? Wtf is that? I believe Reach was a fantastic game, and had much higher replay value. We all have different opinions, you have no right to tell me what I must like and dislike.

I loved Halo 4s story and graphics, but I feel it tried taking itself too seriously. I mean we cant even understand the grunts anymore. They used to be funny and lighten up the game some.

And I agree about the new weapons, simply because it was obvious that each races weapons mirrored each other. Basically there were 3 different versions of each gun, with some exceptions.

But otherwise the game was amazing. I just got my first 360 and played Halo 3, then went straight to Halo 4 and was blown away by the difference.

I love it to, but the Prometheons and their weapons were a bit of a letdown. 343 should have used a bit more imagination rather than just making the same 4 or 5 generic weapon types.

seems like a good game to me

My biggest problem with the game is that it's got me pining for halo 5.

I was a bit disappointed with the Prometheans, three variations of enemies didn't seem enough. Their weapons were a bit 'meh' except for the incineration cannon.

If the watchers don't return for halo 5 i won't be upset, annoying little bastards.
