If you’ve ever hoped that one day you could punch the living daylight out of all of Sonic’s annoying friends, then in concept, this should be the game for you. You can pick one of nine fighters (one’s a secret!), and battle through eight stages, before tackling the game’s three boss characters.
According to Wikipedia, there’s a bit more of a story to it than this, but it’s never apparent from within the game…

Really happy to see MOTW make the cut. Great game, and the Xbox version was a pretty solid port of SNK's Neo Geo classic.
MotW on Dreamcast is my favorite FF game. Never played the XB port but this intrigues me now.

Actually I am in my 20's and have gone back and played many of the Sonic games made, personally I find a lot of the older games to be absolutely awful with a particular nod to the original Sonic the Hedgehog. I know a good game when I play it and the games on my list and ones that are truly great and the pinnacle of the Sonic experience.
Well. I guess an opinion is an opinion.
But just because you can't make it through a game doesn't make it bad.

1. Sonic Adventure
2. Sonic 2
3. Sonic and Knuckles
4. Sonic 3
5. Sonic the Hedgehog 1991
That's pretty much my list, only I'd put S&K and Sonic 3 at 1 and 2. And maybe drop Adventure for Sonic Chaos for GameGear/Master System, I had so much fun with that game.
