PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale has hit PlayStation 3′s and Vitas alike, and is doing well for itself. One of the complaints featured is the lack of other characters from Sony’s biggest franchises – many of these franchises only feature one per franchise, except Cole from inFamous, oddly enough, and that the characters seem a bit restricted.
While Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale didn't get the best review, there are still some aspects of the game that deserve some credit.
Though PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale is a bit of a cult classic, it could have been a big hit if it launched in 2022 instead of 2012.
It wouldn't have mattered, Sony would've rushed it out and left it to die. More so now than before with their focus now being on SP narrative driven AAA games.
Oh, but somehow Smash Bros. 64 made it work?
It just couldn’t compete with Smash Bros. and it wasn’t a free-to-play game like Multiversus.
I think it released at the right time. It's just after the success of Smash and Multiversus, it's finally time for a sequel.
I'd be all in on a remake or remaster of the original. I enjoyed it because I didn't sit there and compare every aspect to SSB. I just enjoyed it as it was.
Sony should make part 2 and dump a good amount of money on it. Scrap super only kills and it's bound to succeed.
God of War: Ragnarok has plenty of fun references to PlayStation history, but now fans have discovered a conversation that calls back to PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale — the crossover fighting game released for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.
That’s interesting. It actually does make it canon lol. He mentioned it in a mainline game. I’d say that’s pretty cool.
I like Bayonetta, Rayman, Crash and Spyro for this. The others make no sense to me at all. I'd definitely love to see Rayman and Crash, they fit so well. Spyro doesn't fit perfectly, but i'm sure they could make him work somehow. I know people were dying for him to be there, but honestly if you think about it, it seems difficult to think about how he could fit. I think part of it has to do with the current 22 all being humanoid figures, it makes more sense for this game. Spyro walks on all fours, so it would seem hard to implement him well I think.
Id like Juri from Street Fighter 4 as a SF Rep because SuperBot was originally going to put one in, but it was either Ryu or Chun-Li, but Juri would be better because Ryu and Chun-Li was alread in MvC 3, her moves would be unique like Kat. This game needs more female fighter, and Juri and Bayonetta would be a nice addition. Rayman should've been in from the beginning because he originated on the PS1,and should've replaced BD. Underrated characters like Vexx should be in because he is another first party character and getting him would be easy, not a lot of people want him, but nobody wanted Heihachi either. Then there's Wex Major from Wild 9, and Viewtiful Joe, Wex is a PS1 classic character just like Parappa, Spike, and Sir Daniel, so he should be in too. Please take note SuperBot, there are plenty of other characters you could get besides Crash, Spyro, Snake, and Cloud but I would like them either way. Get the characters that would make since and not characters from anywhere.
