Microsoft has now sold 50 million Halo games since the series launched more than a decade ago with 2001's Halo: Combat Evolved. The company announced the news this morning, reiterating that players have spent more than 5 billion hours playing Halo on Xbox Live.
Prior to Halo 4's worldwide launch on November 6, the Halo series stood at 46 million in sales. This suggests Microsoft's newest entry has shifted 4 million copies thus far. Halo 4 generated $220 million in 24-hour revenue at launch, with $300 million expected for its first week.

I know you were trying to bait Sony and Nintendo fans, but actually both consoles have one franchise that has sold that amount or even more this gen (See, Gran Turismo franchise(65 million), Wii Sports (Just that one game, 79 million lol).

Not really. As I said, MS and Sony do pack-ins for certain exclusives, but only for certain occasions, like launch or Holiday bundles. Wii Sports only sold 79 million BECAUSE it was packed-in. Until Nintendo released Wii Sports 2, every new Wii came with WS1, and it counted as a (bogus)software sale for them. Sure, Wii Sports may have been the best game to really enjoy the Wii controls with, since most other games failed miserably with them...but anyone who actually bought the game separately, likely got it used.
I guess Halo doesn't count as well, huh lol? Most of the Halo games that came out was bundle or packed with another game with the Xbox360.
"Oh, but but that's different."
Edit: At possible disagrees, come on. I showed you Halo 3 packed in with Fable 2, Halo 3 and Halo 3 ODST packed in with Halo Reach.
