Sexism and Harassment in Halo 4, How Should It Be Handled?

Go Critic: As a female gamer who has played Halo since the original release, I know exactly what it means to be harassed online. Did that ever mean I quit playing? No. The worst of it wasn’t even being harassed and insulted. Usually what happened more often than not was me getting hit on. I would get a private message or voice mail during gameplay that was followed by repeated, “So-and-so wants to play with you”. (Halo 4, Xbox 360)

A female complaining about horny adolescent males harassing her over XBL. It's Halo. On XBL. It's gonna happen.

Most of their experience with the opposite sex is through Google. Interaction, even on a strictly vocal level, is a foreign and confusing experience. Reacting awkwardly or with hostility is to be expected.

I'd stop using your mic. Even as a man, I never use mics in gaming unless I'm only playing with friends.

Actually I agree, I haven't found my self in game chat since the new Xbox experience was introduced. With most people in parties them selves games chat was only ever used when you want to troll or harass people, or get trolled or harassed so you can complain about how bad it is (Ala this article)

Moaning bitch should be thankful. No body else has been invited to private lobbies for custom games since back in Halo 3 before the "New Xbox Experience" (Party chat) came out.

Should have started your derogatory comment with I dont want to sound sexist but... Then you would get disagrees. Really though gender roles need to be broken in society however I do not know if online gaming voice chat is the fore front of that affair. Was a interesting article and was not playing the victim and started a logical discussion about it so for that I respect her.

Just play on the big boy system the ps3. Little rabbits, 360 is for kids. But I do like Halo4 tho, the split-screen is nice for your kids to join in also.
