Virtua Fighter 2 HD Review [Capsule Computers]

The original Virtua Fighter game is widely regarded as the true origin of the 3D fighting genre. From a graphical and technological standpoint, it did things no other game dreamed of doing at the time. It may look like a laughable blocky mess now, but back then, these character models and fighting animations looked really realistic (not that people were blocky polygons back in the 90s). It didn’t just rely on this ground-breaking engine (which was powered by the primitive Sega Model 1 arcade system board), as it also provided a fighting experience completely unlike contemporary (2D) fighting games from that time. Interesting enough. I probably wouldn't be sold on the 10/10 for a port though. Sega Bass Fishing was close, very close.

I remember getting this along with Sega Rally and Virtua Cop on Saturn. these 3 games showed that the Saturn (when programmed well) could compete with PS1.

I don't remember what made her get it back then, but when I was younger, my mom got me a Sega Saturn and all the Virtual games (Virtual Fighter, Virtual ON and Virtual Cop). All were amazing effin' games. I even had the orange gun controller that came with Virtual Cop.

But yeah, I loved the Virtual games back then. VF2 still has the best soundtrack IMO. Would be amazing if they did a HD version of Virtual Fighter kids.

I have a Saturn (2 to be honest) and I have VF2. It looked good back then, and it looks good to this day. Not as refined as it's arcade original, but it works. I should check out the HD remake so I don't have to go over to my SD gaming systems setup. :)

Even SEGA can do HD versions for Saturn and Dreamcast games but not Sony!?

Im all for PS2/PSP HD remasters but why not PS1 as well?

I would love to play Ape Escape 1 in HD.

10/10 really? for a genesis era game even if it's in HD? surely not
