Skyrim's Latest Expansion Reminds Us Why Level Scaling Works

Now that Skyrim's Dragonborn DLC is with us, at least on Xbox 360, a classic Elder Scrolls debate is sure to rage anew: Should serious RPG fans be annoyed about "level scaling?" (PC, PS3, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Xbox 360)

Level scaling blows.

agreed, i miss the days when I used to play dragon warrior and Final Fantasy where if you went to a new area, there were stronger monsters that gave you more gold and exp. I found it so fun grinding a bit, and got strong enough to barely make it through a level. Eventually it became a passion for me, and I would grind till I was way more stronger than I had to be to get by a level. And even then, at least back in the golden era of rpg's, they used myth and lore with more imagination then all the cliche crap that's been spewing out this whole generation.

Skyrim is super easy i had to turn my difficutly up all the way for it to be even semi challenging. could be due to my high sneak and bow skills but even in sword fights i found this game to be much easier than the previous ones where i had to turn the difficulty down even when i was at higher levels. i personally think they could do a better job scaling the difficutly for the next one
