Vita still underperforming in Japan. Some stores in NZ have dropped the price of the Vita to being the same as the 3DSXL! Great deal!

More people continue to buy PSPs rather than Vitas, really? hopefully when Monster Hunter hits Vita sales will rise like crazy in Japan

People need to stop counting on this. The 4th game is 3ds exclusive for at least the foreseable future and it is not even out yet. The WiiU, which isn't even out in Japan yet(Or JUST came out) got a MonHun already, yet not even a murmur of such has suggested that the Vita will get the same.
And if one is ever announced, it won't be at least until summer/fall of next year. And then a year-year and a half from then until it even comes out.

It Is Not Happening. End of Story.

The PSP usually had the 'updated' versions of the main series called Monster Hunter Freedom, so it is possible that at a later time the Vita will get something similar.

Also you are talking 'exclusive' in the same breath with Capcom? This gen there is no such thing as 'exclusive' when you are talking about Capcom, they are clearly trying to be on as many platforms as possible. Take for example the once 'exclusive' Resident Evil Revelations that are now coming to both PS3/XB360. This is Capcom's business model looking at what they have done this gen.

So yes there will be a Monster Hunter game coming to the Vita regardless.

The psp had the updated versions... but they competed with no one for them. That won't be the case with the 3ds and now WiiU.
And what I'm saying won't happen is Monster Hunter pushing the Vita in an appreciable way. It will be too late in its life cycle to easily have an overwhelming effect. MonHun non exclusive will not "Save" the Vita, so people need to stop thinking it will.

And while I won't sit here and say I think Capcom will absolutely keep MH Nintendo Exclusive, it wouldn't be so out there, with Tatsunoko Vs Capcom being a wii exclusive, Swimming in Tri/TriU being exclusive(albeit for different reasons) and most recently PS3 DLC exclusivity.

And lastly, Capcom does not need the Vita, or possibly even the Sony fanbase to have MH be very sucessful. The 3ds(and Nintendos bilateral partnership for that matter) will most likely be better for the series than Sony or the psp ever were in and outside of Japan. There really is no need or even enough want at this point for it to be a Capcom priority, and we all know how Capcom behaves according to their priorities...
