Xbox Addict: "Sure it’s fun in spurts, but I did beat it in one sitting…er, standing which makes it a little difficult to recommend. Yes the game is fun (in the short term) and Kinect tracks your movements flawlessly, but you will complete the game very quickly, so pick it up if you want a decent game for your Kinect, just wait till it drops to your price range first."

I’ll open this by saying that Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth (Wii U) is a terrible game. Like, it’s REALLY BAD, you guys. The most repetitive, simplistic, fighting game I’ve played in my memory, and certainly the worst game I own for the Wii U. “SO WHY DO YOU OWN IT?” Well, I’ll tell you: because my six-year-old son loves it.

Millisecond-perfect timing and the memorisation of several-button-presses-long combos are often essential to win, and unfortunately not everybody has enough time to spend shining up their Shoryukens. Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth lowers the entry barrier to the genre, ensuring that anybody can get in on the action, though its overly simplified approach may have hardcore fighter fans sneering “zero” rather than “hero”.
