Mike Capps Steps Down as President of Epic Games

It’s hard to believe I’m writing these words, but here goes! After 10 crazy and wonderful years, I’m handing off my current presidential duties at Epic, and transitioning into an advisory role as well as remaining on the Epic board of directors. (EA, Epic Games, Industry)

Something weird's happening, that's for sure. With all these important people leaving the company one after the other, it really makes you wonder what's happening behind the scenes.

Everyone's pretty much abandoning ship.

Blasphemy- that is true, but why are all these people downsizing their roles/ going elsewhere? Sure it may all be a coincidence, but maybe not. Just weird that they all decide to change their jobs in the same year.

I have the feeling that Epic is trying to cut costs and replace senior assets with newer cheaper assets. Cliff, Rod and now Mike. Sad times.

I have a soft spot for Gears since it was the first time i thought "Oh sh*t! look at those graphics!" when i first got a 360.

Bulletstorm was a bunch of fun too despite the iffy port to PS3.

I wonder what's next for them?

Best of luck to him, you'd think with the AAA Gears Of War Judgment, Fortnite and the new Unreal Engine 4 that people would have stuck around. Sort of reminds me of what happened to G4, a lot of the better people left before the channel was sold off.

Looks to me that Epic Games is about to be bought out, the question is by whom?

The empire is falling, Epic have produced many fantastic games like Jazz Jackrabbit, hope they find their feet again soon.

You'd have to be crazy to think that Epic Games is going under. They have Unreal Engine 4 that is going to change the face of gaming.... again.

I'm sure this means we'll be seeing a lot more new IP's from Epic than just Gears or Bulletstorm games.
