Ubisoft’s Weird Alice in Wonderland Cameos

Kotaku - Ubisoft's two big holiday releases don't just share numerals and second words starting with "cr". They also both begin, bizarrely, with almost exactly the same quote. (Assassin's Creed III, Far Cry 3, PC, PS3, Ubisoft, Xbox 360)

Make sense with both games

Jason Brody exploring the unknown of the jungle and killing

Assassins Creed 3 entering the Animus American Revolution

both characters start ignorant to the full extent of their world and leaves with endings of enlightened by the unknown.

Matrix parallels. Also games are in the same universe

having both games begin with the quote is rather redundant though
