GDC: Secret of GTA's Euphoric Drunks

NaturalMotion's technology powers many of the animation aspects of Rockstar's upcoming surefire hit, including the alcohol-fueled antics of protagonist Niko Bellic. The technology is called Euphoria, and has gained fame for giving stormtroopers the will to live in the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.

This is why GTA IV will be successful. R* was wise to look into euphoria and use it in their game, I doubt I'd be hyped at all if it wasn't for that fact. For all those that don't know what Euphoria is, take a look at the video. Virtually no clipping, and nearly flawless animations that are all randomly generated. This is what will seperate GTA from the rest, and the same can be said for any title using Euphoria. We'll be seeing the first good star wars action title since Shadows of the Empire and finally a football game with zero clipping, Backbreaker which will surely be putting out it's best in a bid to outshine and win the NFL license contract which goes up in 2009. Like I said, GTA would be nothing without Euphoria, because then it would just be another game.
