Peter Chapman:
I've never played God of War. It’s one of PlayStation’s most iconic brands, featuring one of its most recognisable and potentially interesting protagonists and it has spawned multiple sequels across numerous platforms. It leaves a gaping hole in my gaming history.
I have dabbled with the series at various times. I vaguely remember trying God of War II on the PS2 many years ago. I played bits and pieces of one or both of the PSP games (I can’t recall), Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta, on the PSP but no more than an hour or two. I played the first few levels of God of War III shortly after it came out and quickly lost interest. I bought the first HD collection in the US before it was released in the UK and never took it out of its cellophane before giving it away.
but when I hit a barren spell with no other interesting games to play i got it to see what the fuss was about, and just after a few moments i'm trying to get out of the jaws of the sea monster, the game was packed full of moments like this, that turned me into a believer.
only 1 out of 7 buy Halo for the 360, and only 1 out of 10 buy Uncharted, games supposed to be iconic exclusives.
me for example:
Halo yes , GoW no
Uncharted yes, GT no
Zelda yes, Mario no
Part 2 for me was the best in the series.
I mean, GoW + GoW2 + GoW:CoO + GoW:GoS + GoW3, all for 40 bucks is INSANE.
Uncharted 1-3
Ratchet & Clank Future games
Infamous 1+2
Metal Gear Solid 4
Starhawk
Journey
Any HD Collections if you didn't play them on PS2
Just throwing some ideas your way.
I mean either you've talked crap about a game you've never played, you've finally tried the series like it and are now jumping on the bandwagon, tried it and hated it, or you even are continuing to ignore and feel the need to write an article about ignoring it because your editor is on your ass for an article.
In absolutely any case - who frigging cares?!
