Is EA Sports Pulse a social network for sports games?

EA Sports appears to be developing a new online portal called 'EA Sports Pulse'. Could this be FIFA, Madden and NHL's equivalent to Battlelog? (EA Sports, Industry, PC, PS3, Wii U, Xbox 360)

Lol I hope not, EA seem almost obsessed with all these social features, don't know a single person who uses them in Fifa, they're pointless.

I agree, EA needs to step back from the social networking bandwagon, and put that money/manpower towards improved quality control.

Screw this social crap , EA needs to restart the MVP baseball franchise again seeing how 2K is not renewing it license with MLB .
