10 things We Want From Wii U

If there’s one word that can be used to describe Nintendo’s Wii U, it’s ‘potential.’ The console has already proven it’s packed with plenty of great ideas. Just look at the diverse applications of the GamePad, ranging from Nintendo Land’s asynchronous multiplayer experiences to ZombiU’s core gameplay integration. Controller aside, Nintendo’s notion of a built-in social network just might change the way gamers connect with one another, and how developers can communicate with their fans.

Still, not every launch goes perfectly. Over the past couple weeks, we’ve noticed a variety of things that the system is lacking, ranging from critical hardware functionality to having definitive proof that key franchises are on the way. With that in mind, here are the ten things we’d most like to see in the coming weeks and months.

I would literally run out to buy a Wii U right this instant if a new Earthbound released on it today!

I want a trophy/achievement system, more character space for Miiverse messaging and Virtual Console titles available from the Wii U menue (basically I want Wii functionality built into the Wii U interface without having to switch modes).

I want a trophy/achievement system

YES, YES, YES!!! I wouldn't make a big stink about it, but Reggie said "We'll have all that" when asked about a trophy system by Geoff Keighley in an E3 2012 interview. I don't care what a person's position is on trophies/achievements, Reggie said Wii U would have them, and he lied. I'd like if someone got a petition going to get Nintendo to implement them. People are constantly posting their achievements to Miiverse, and a trophy system would make it much easier.

I think it's better to leave games like AC: Amiibo Festival and Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash forgotten on the Wii U. Best case, they are mediocre games; worse case, they are very bad. It was a dark time for the Wii U, and the first only exists to sell Amiibo cards, whereas the second was put together in a couple of months with a shoestring budget, and it shows.

The rest of the list does have some really cool games, though. I would love to see a remake of Star Fox Zero with decent controls, and Xenoblade X doesn't require that much modification to work.

How would XCX work without dual screens functionality?

Same as Paper Mario color splash. One of the best wiiu games and getting even better with dual screen. Same reason why i prefer Splatoon 1

This article leaves out Nintendo's most controversial game to date devils Third.
I personally found the cover system really fun in that one compared to at the time most fps games completely lacking one.

Devil's Third is HIGHLY underrated.

They should remake Starfox to the switch 2. Very beautiful game during gamecube days.

Kirby is always ignored or forgotten by people, so good to see it mentioned here.
Play Kirby Canvas Curse on DS, and then play Rainbow Curse on Wii U, they're really fun and unique 'platformers' without any actual jumping.
