With the unveiling of Bioshock Infinite's box art becoming released to a very unfriendly reception we all sit and wonder how on earth they settled on this:
maybe it's similar to uncharted's cover.. but i think it's a great idea to put booker on the front cover and elizabeth on the back.. because those two is the main focus of the game
This should be the cover. http://kotaku.com/5965053/e...
At least it doesn't have bomberman on the cover like Bioshock 2.
I just thought they would try to show Bookers and Elizabeths relationship on the cover and summarize whats going on in the game. The two sides of the war Songbird Weird new enemies ...but no, we get a cover that total goes against the theme and style of the game, looks like a reverse Drakes Fortune cover, gives it an overt the top action "LETS BLOW CRAP UP" feel and has Elizabeth slapped on the back.
I just find a little sad that it has written "SHOOTER" in big letters at the back cover. I thought Bioshock was after more than that.
It is. They just want to pull people in who don't play anything except typical shooters (and believe me there are people like that). Maybe Bioshock: Infinite will be some people's "gateway drug" to the real good stuff in the end. I'm all for that.
People that play typical shooters wouldn't enjoy a game like this unless it will turn out to be like one. I am hoping this is nothing to worry about.
Not all but some.... dont THINK they would enjoy a game like this, they just haven't tryed anything different than what is pushed out by the mainstream media. Alot of casual gamers don't venture out and try new things very often. Sometimes games like this could be the one that makes them realize there is a whole bunch of different types of expierences that videogames can provide (even from a shooter). FarCry 3 has a chance to do the same.
The most disappointing is why they show us this character that we play as but yet it's first-person so we never actually see our character in full.
People seriously have an issue with this. We don't play the box cover, we play the game. If people can't get past a piece of pr that is meant to appeal to a wider audience and entice people to buy it then they must miss out on a lot of cool things. Kevin Levine is making this game, it has not been rushed and there is no tacked on crap mp, its all focused on the sp. I mean I don't sit there and look at a box cover and judge it on that, that is ridiculous.
I agree and big deal if the cover don't look great to some. I think it looks awesome.
Copied from another article: It's been criticized because it's generic and doesn't reflect how unique the game is. Box art is a form of advertisement, so it needs to stand out more than it currently does. We've seen this same box art a dozen times.
Millions of people bought played and enjoyed bs1. Those same people already know how unique this game is. They don't need to sell you on the product. They want the cod crowd to give it a shot. They figured all activision does is slap a new number on a box and boom, millions of sales. So they already have you and I in their pockets, its the people that buy yearly releases and are satisfied with them they are reaching out to because they figure it has fire and guns on the cover so at the very least they'll pick up the box and look at it. Its all pr and people need to stop pretending like its their game they made and only they know how cool it is because other people couldn't possibly understand. Print out your own cover if it bothers you that much, clearly there are. Ones you could print right now so when you buy it you can have it ready to go. People are such whiners.
Ohh Ken.. what are you doing!? This has to be a joke! IF this turns out to be real then it was a total missed opportunity to use one of the Propaganda Posters as Cover art, I mean hell, if cereal and soda can slap 'Classic' labels on their products to keep fat people fat why can't games! ^_^
I can see why people are disappointed. But when you're actually playing the game, will it matter? I'm sure I can find several examples of great games with terrible covers.
Wow, another article about the cover being bad. I'm not one to say this but I do think there's some kind of conspiracy/doom/gloom/bias towards this game. Where are my n4g posters who can back me up when it comes to conspiracies? But anyways, the cover looks fine. I would never NOT pick it up just because the art on the front was bad. It’s what’s on the inside that counts, sort of like a fat chick. Edit: http://img715.imageshack.us... Honestly, the Far Cry 3 to me is the same. Some guy I don't know if he's the antagonist or the protagonist holding a gun. The only difference is there are bodies around the area instead of a burning flag in the back. I agree that a lot of box covers are bland and uninteresting. Demon's Souls for PS3 had the worse cover in my opinion but that game was TERRIFIC. And there were no articles about that. http://lojagamespro.com/loj... Point is, I don't know why this particular cover is getting flack.
stay classy lol but that´s a good analogy. Cover art for most games nowadays look so bland and boring for the most part its hard to get interested at the game just by looking at the cover. why it can be something like far cry 3 cover? now thats an interesting one.
does it matter? i mean, it's not like you'll be playing with the cover instead of the game, right?
I mean its not awful but the cover really matters to some buyers. It really doesn't scream Bioshock but I'm not to worried about it.
Haven't people ever heard of the phrase 'Don't judge a book by its cover', i do not get the big deal with complaining about this at all. Look remember the NA Ico cover we got, that wasn't really great but it turns out the actual game was a near masterpiece. If people relied on the cover art to make their decision on buying games than they would have missed out on many really good ones.
