For Military Shooters, Creativity is Dead

Jeff from Holygrenade discusses his frustration with modern combat shooters, and how much they follow the trend. (Battlefield 3, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Industry, Medal of Honor: Warfighter, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier)

Its both creativity and demand in MOST cases that are dead. Franchises and the reliance on overly drawn out and milked sequels are slowly killing gaming as a medium.

I hate how the writer said the genre is dead, and points out flaws of the genre, but say nothing that would help bring creativity back to it.

all it says is to stop buying these games. That's not the solution, that just creates confusion. There has to be a game that attracts more attention while the current FPS declines. That way companies can see where the new direction lies. Just suggesting that people stop buying a game that they do like is just stupid.
