I kind of understand why the PS3 doesn't sell as well as the 360 here in America. It's not solely on the consumers, it also falls on the retailers, Sony and/or Microsoft. I've seen more deals on the 360, then I have seen on the PS3 this week or any other week.

I wonder if its the same in other places around the world?

it actually has a lot to do with Sony being in Japan. When the Yen is so much higher over the dollar or domestic currency, they lose money bringing over the sales from foreign markets.

Since Sony is loosing so much money in currency exchange rates already, it wouldn't be profitable (or sometimes possible) to discount the hardware even further.

Nintendo faces the same problem, which is why Sony and Nintendo are losing record-losses these past two years. It 's the opposite when there is a week Yen, they can charge us less and make the money back in currency exchange.

Prices are going down faster and faster because MS are getting ready for the Next-Generation.

Nice! 360's below the magic $200 mark. The PS2 sold very well and when all was said and done (if you can call it said and done considering it's still available) it turned out that it was only half done by the time it dipped below $200. I think the 360 could still have a long life ahead of it under $200 as long as it's supported. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'll never understand how the Wii outsold the 360 considering how close they've been in price over the long run. It's 10 times the gaming platform, in my humble opinion.
