Techologie- When Nintendo first announced the original Wii, the reception for it was rather mild. When the Wii was finally launched, not only did it sell like hot cakes, it also changed the way we game. By introducing motion controls, Nintendo created a market that never existed, and profited greatly.
Once you're playing console games on the wii u tablet, while sitting in bed or on the toilet, you suddenly realize why this concept it so great.
It also really lends itself to pick up and play gaming. I find it much easier to fit Wii U gaming into my schedule.
But yes, I agree. It will probably be picked up as it goes. I've met a few people who were not really fond of the controller/console but were excited once they actually tried it out.
This is the reason why the Wii Us existence on the market doesn´t really bother me because while the tablet controller will be an interesting option the standard controllers will still be around for anyone who isnt interested in gaming with a tablet/standard controller hybrid.
I prefer to look at one screen, not have to look at the controller and still know what I am doing. The standard controller just feels right in my hands.
I hope tablet controllers don't become the standard controller in the future.
I mean, I think it's far too early to tell if Wii U will be "half" as successful as its predecessor. Don't get me wrong, I love Nintendo, but they are dragging their feet in so many ways. I would give it a year before Wii U really gets on its feet. They'd better make a big splash because a year from now is the next gen storm.
They're going to need to make a big push with some software or we might see some trade ins. You never know, MS or Sony could drop out, hopefully there's room for all three. More please!!
