Persona 4 Golden Review | Game Critics

Game Critics: "As much as I found myself groaning through the parts I knew I would dislike—namely, the grinding and overwhelming sense of repetition that emanates from combat and time management—I grew to respect Persona 4: Golden. I can't say I completely enjoyed my time with the game, but I'm not the kind of person who would be interested in buying it. Those who are will find an admirably polished JRPG and a welcome addition to their burgeoning Vita library. Rating: 8.0 out of 10." (Persona 4 Golden, PS Vita) 8/10

you and everybody that agreed with you has issues. First. why the name calling? does it make you feel better putting somebody down?

-Also nothing wrong with trying out things you usually don't like.

Because message boards/comment sections are a cesspool of melodrama and overreaction.

It's not like this was even a bad score...like, at all.

No, there's nothing wrong with TRYING a game you usually don't like.

But why in the hell would I review wrestling games when I would be happier if they didn't even exist? How is my impression of any game in the genre going to be valid?

^ Again, the melodrama.

The point of a review is to render perspective. If you want an objective article, go read a hands-on or a preview. Reviews are not for cheerleading, and this one was not even done poorly.

He clearly states his prejudices and scores the game positively IN SPITE of them, which really should point to the game's greatness more than a review full of blatant gushing.

While nothing's wrong with trying out things you usually don't like, reviewing and scoring "that" game is another thing.

Not everyone reads out "honest" reviews that gives "honest" scores. Most gamers will just check scores and ratings via gamerankings and metacritic and low scores will mean hesitant consumers.

Gaming sites needs to address this. Not because your just articulate you can qualify as a gaming reviewer. Expert on RPG can score the game based on his experience on the genre and they can also give new user insights on the game.

Reading game reviews is my hobby especially if take a break while playing a game. While I agree on their reviews and scores sometimes, you
will also stumble on a review that you know has no idea of what he/she is talking about and gives scores like a professional.

Exactly... professional reviewer sites obviously has people who review certain genres they are well-versed in, seriously P4G already improved on what was already a stellar RPG on the PS2 so really it doesn't really deserve this 8 score seeing as the reviewer isn't even a fan of the JRPG genre. Let someone who understands the genre review it... idiot -_-

Also to add this reviewer hasn't reviewed a game since April, why on earth did he have to ruin Persona 4 Golden's 9 &10 scores when this is actually one of the very few games that truly deserves its 90-100% praise with a little criticism on the side, this guy just doesn't understand the genre.

I reckon this guys just fishing for hits.

actually there is nothing wrong reviewing a game that is not your liking. but personal opinion should never be a factor that affect the overall score. it is like i do buy games that may not be my cup of tea just to try and who knows i may end up liking it more than i thought so? I didnt bother to read this review thou, but all i can say is if the score given is not being lowered because of personal dislike with the game then its all good.

best game of the last 2 years.

I'm not an RPG guy myself and this game was so much fun to play. Best game I've played in a long time. Was totally hooked from start to finish. Even picked up P4 arena and liked it and I'm not a fighting game fan either. We need more games like this.

Hmmmm the only one who gave this game an 8... Seems suspicious...
