Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale Review | GameArena

GameArena: "The gameplay really works, and it offers something significantly different to other fighting games, but with this feeling of something missing present in the game, and the online being as poor as it is quite often (a crucial part of fighting games nowadays), I’m afraid I just can’t give this a score any higher than I have."

7.5 is probably spot on for this game. The gameplay is so good, but everything else is so mediocre at best.

Outside_ofthe_Box4157d ago

I'd give it an 8.5, but I do agree that the gameplay is THE best part of the game which I think is crucial because it gives the game a lot of replayability.

No, it is definitely higher then that. The game being mediocre is if you nitpick it. If you accept it for what it is it is much higher then a 7.5. Like people who take out point because the menus are not nice enough or the story isn't deep enough. That is BS.

7.5 is a good score though.

It wouldn't have mattered, Sony would've rushed it out and left it to die. More so now than before with their focus now being on SP narrative driven AAA games.

CrimsonWing69514d ago

Oh, but somehow Smash Bros. 64 made it work?

It just couldn’t compete with Smash Bros. and it wasn’t a free-to-play game like Multiversus.

PapaBop514d ago

I think it released at the right time. It's just after the success of Smash and Multiversus, it's finally time for a sequel.

I'd be all in on a remake or remaster of the original. I enjoyed it because I didn't sit there and compare every aspect to SSB. I just enjoyed it as it was.

Magatsuhi513d ago

Sony should make part 2 and dump a good amount of money on it. Scrap super only kills and it's bound to succeed.

Father__Merrin513d ago

Yes the power kills spoilt it completely WTH was they thinking you should have hp bar that's it

I wouldn't say canon. More like an easter egg.

Deathdeliverer520d ago

That’s interesting. It actually does make it canon lol. He mentioned it in a mainline game. I’d say that’s pretty cool.
