I can't believe Xbox sold that much.

SandWitch1784d ago

I can't believe DS did.

Were they giving away free DSs on a black friday or what?

The_Infected1784d ago

Lol I have no idea. Funny the 360 and PS3 sold more than the new Wii U especially 360 which nearlly doubled the Wii U sales.

CBaoth1784d ago

they were sold for $79

Deku-Johnny1784d ago

@Marcus_Fenix, yeah it's very funny how 360 and PS3 sold more than Wii U considering there were more 360/PS3s available. Wii U sales literally couldn't have been better.

NukaCola1783d ago

People love Just Dance...

Also, hot dog, didn't think people were going for the DS anymore, with the 3DS out. Crazy. Also great numbers all around. Glad to see the Vita shooting up again, wonder which bundle sold more..I hope it was the AC bundle. I would love for Ubi to make more ACs for Vita.

TheUndertaker851783d ago

"6: (WiiU) New Super Mario Bros. U - 316,344"

That was given away free.

solidt121783d ago

agreed his did it outsell the 3ds? I bet there are alot of parents out there that don't even know what a 3ds is.

Realplaya1784d ago

@Marcus_Fenix It's not funny the 360 had more units available. So if they had 100,000 makes sense they sell that buch. Nintendo shipped 400,000 sure you can do the math.

The_Infected1783d ago

Yea Nintendo shipped 400,000 units and sold 411,850. You do the math. They're still Wii U consoles at some of our Walmart stores. They're not in that short of supply.

k-dillinger1784d ago

I can't believe you believe these always fake #s really

usernames1783d ago

I cant believe you came on here to comment on numbers that you believe are fake.

wishingW3L1784d ago (Edited 1784d ago )

official numbers were 500,000 for PS3 and 700,000 for the Xbox. I don't even know why this bullcrap was approved.

demonddel1784d ago (Edited 1784d ago )

That's for the week young fella not just black Friday

SoapShoes1784d ago

Which is why the PS3 is under tracked. It did more on Black Friday than vgchartz says it did all week.

Dlacy13g1783d ago (Edited 1783d ago )

@wishingW3L if you are going to quote "official" numbers please actually quote the official numbers of Black Friday:

Edit updated to more specifics:
525,000 PS3s per Sony for the weekend of Black Friday (18th to the 24th of Nov)
960,000 360s per MS for the week of Black Friday (800,000 in the 24hrs of Black Friday)

Dlacy13g1783d ago

In case anyone needs the link for the MS numbers:

Muerte24941783d ago (Edited 1783d ago )

You should do a little fact checking of your own before you try to fact check someone else. Microsoft sold 750,000 DURING the week of Black Friday. That was not a sell of just the one day.
The numbers you're quoting are from Last year but nice try buddy. Read this article to catch yourself up
Ps3 was the only system the had a Year-over-year gain this black friday.
Xbox360 sold 750,000 (still impressive) DURING the week of black friday. Ps3 sold 525,000 and Wii U sold 400,000. What people didn't know is that launch week for the Wii U, US was only had 400k allocated (set aside). So it makes sense that it only sold that much given it's limited supply.

Those numbers you're posting are from last year. Xbox360 didn't not see a Year-over-Year gain. you provide one source that's says 900k, I provide three sources saying 750k and one source saying your numbers are from last year.
Let me know if those numbers look familiar but the date says Nov 29th 2011

Dlacy13g1783d ago

@Muerte2494... I stand corrected. If you look at the link I had from Toms Hardware its an article from Nov. 29, 2012.

They have it totally wrong on their site apparently. Usually they are reliable so the only thing I have to say is.

Xbox 360 sold 750,000 units during the week of Black Friday.

Feel better?

Microsoft officially own their home base (USA). They get the lion share of their sales here as compared the other regions where Sony PS3 dominates. So with their second generation consoles they know own home base similar to how Nintendo this generation own the Japan market.

Good job Microsoft. The question now is can Xbox720 give them the edge to own the european regions. Japan is still a market space I do not see Microsoft having much success in.

shempo1782d ago

sony dominate asia, europe, australia and it wont change next gen

if u think it will then i suggest you to wake up
the ps3 outsells the xbox wordlwide its no secret, you will enjoy the last place soon enough have fun kkthxbb

shempo1782d ago

fabod861784d ago

i can't believe that PS3 and PSVita estimates hasn't been updated after an official report by Sony... ;)

andibandit1784d ago

No worries, those numbers are shipped, and they did the same mistake with MS when they announced they had passed 70M at the end of september, yet at october 10, VGC still showed 360 sales at 69M.
It all evens out

fabod861784d ago (Edited 1784d ago )

i disagree... if they don't update their numbers with shipped data how can the 360 numbers be like that? follow me, microsoft announced 750k 360 sold on the black friday and vgchartz has them at 807k for the week. 57k sold during the rest of the week seams logic considering that i don't think that a lot of people bought it out from the discounts of the black friday.
sony reported 525k ps3 sold on that single day and that all the discounted bundles were soldout in few hours, how can be the numbers of an entire week be even lower than a single day report? in conclusion, 360 data seams on par with the microsoft report the ps3 ones not. i call it common sense. ;)

josephayal1784d ago

Wow nothing can beat ms in the usa

SuperSonic2661784d ago

Not as long as vgchartz keeps forging these numbers

MysticStrummer1783d ago

Just one of many reasons why the world laughs at the US.

AngelicIceDiamond1783d ago

Its a game console relax. Let people buy what they wanna buy, I dunno why it offends you so much. You have no reason to be offended.

SuperSonic2661784d ago

Didn't the PS3 sell 525k? and didn't the xbox sell 720k?

What the hell is going on with these numbers

rainslacker1783d ago

It's vgchartz. They're terribly inaccurate sales predictions and not any actual market data. They undershoot the Vita by 40K, and the PS3 by over 100K. They overshot the Xbox by about 60K (not positive on this, can't remember the number MS gave out, but wasn't that high).

For those that want to disagree, that's from the respective companies own reports on their weekend sales.

TheLyonKing1784d ago

Wow 360 almost double that of ps3 and those percentage changes are huge for all of them.

360 clearly has America by the throat just like Sony has Japan it will be interesting to see Europe.

SuperSonic2661784d ago

Just checked europe

PS3 200k
360 100k

but this is vgchartz would most likely be 4/1

Muerte24941783d ago

has technically passed Microsoft as of last quarter, VGCHartz refuses to recognize them. As of September 30th, 2012 xbox360 sits at 70 million, PS3 sits at 70.2 million. Given that Cyber Monday deals take place online, I bet those numbers are going to huge for ps3 in Europe.

Dlacy13g1783d ago (Edited 1783d ago )

@Muerte2494... so looking at the reports.

MS reported in Oct. that they hit 70 million which was part of their 1st quarter reports that ran from July 1st through September 30th.

Sony reported they reached 70 million in NOVEMBER
"Sony announced cumulative sales of its PlayStation 3 reached 70 million units on November 4"

you are leaving a full month of sales difference out... BY pure logic...Sony has not caught MS unless you are trying to say MS sold zero consoles in October.

Muerte24941782d ago

just because Sony reported in November doesn't change the fact that the report, itself, if from July 1st - Sept 30th. Bookmark this comment because Microsoft is going to report mid-January and Sony is going to report early-February. I hope Microsoft has a killer holiday season.
