NowGamer: The lead writer of Borderlands 2 has shared some insight on content cut from the final version, where Tiny Tina drops her 'insane manic tone for the first and only time in the game'.
(Borderlands 2, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)
Probably because it was a bit too emotional in nature and might have detracted from the main emotional scenes in the game. Maybe. Don't really know. Heck, it could have been that they didn't want you to waste time going to various zones just to deliver news of someone's death (poor quest goals) and had nothing to do with the characters.
I think it's likely due to the point about various zones. All of the other characters you were sent to were in Sanctuary at that point, and it would have doubled the length of the mission to go and inform Tina.
Saying that, I really do love the idea of this. Tiny Tina is one of the most controvertial and colourful characters in the entire game. I think she has a bright future ahead of her in the Borderlands universe...
EDIT: But they could have left it in as an optional objective. That would have been a nice touch!
They should make it a free patch or something and put it back in that way. DLC would be a little overboard if you had to pay just to get to do one little thing that was originally going to be in the game anyway.
Still, I do hope they put this in again somehow down the road... It sounds like a really great scene.
Depending on what kind of love we are talking about here? One type of love is ok, the other would make you a criminal kind of love, and there is a word for it but I wont use it.

You know I actually thought they would of made it so she was Bricks sister he went to look for on Pandora.
Hope we get to play as the the old vault hunters in the next game, it could be amazing.

I personally thought Tina was awesome.
But in a non homoerotic way though.
Or they want to charge you for it in the future VIA DLC or upgraded re'release...
Or maybe because she looks too similar to the sisters in Bioshock 2...
