LittleBigPlanet Karting Review | Blistered Thumbs

BT writes: I tend to respect the LittleBigPlanet games more than I actually enjoy them. In theory, I love the idea of a game driven by user-created content and certainly I am fan of the general aesthetic employed by the LBP titles to date. However, in practice, I find the continued slippery controls to be unacceptable in any game that is aiming to be Sony’s answer to the venerable Mario series. This was also one of the major problems I had with the company’s attempt to create their own Mario Kart killer in the form of ModNation Racers, a game that also rubbed me the wrong way on a visual level as well. So when I heard that the studio behind LBP, Media Molecule, was teaming up with the studio behind MNR, United Front Games, to create a LittleBigPlanet-themed kart racer, I immediately became nervous. As it turns out, I was right to be worried. (Little Big Planet Karting, PS Vita, PS3) 5/10

Having played the game I enjoy it. It's a great family game and the kids, love it. I'd give it a 8

Amazing racer. NO idea why reviewers hate it. It makes no sense to me. :/

Perhaps you should 'read' their reasons and not just focus on the score. Below is this reviewers reasons.

"Cons: Gameplay, Controls, Visuals, Creation tools are highly inaccessible, Story mode is terrible"

By the way, it's not that I agree with them but it is up to those who disagree to counter-argument and not just question why it got a low score.

I did read those reasons. They are not GOOD reasons though, if you've played the game. The gameplay is finely tuned. The controls are tight. The visuals are just as good as LBP2, which is a gorgeous game. The creation tools work very well. I don't get this.

Seriously. Everyone I know who owns it loves it. We create tracks and battles all the time.

Sounds like fun. I have LBP2 on the PS3 and really enjoy it.
