Kotaku: If you play ZombiU's special Survival mode you only get one life for the whole game. Death is death. No respawning as another character, which is what happens in ZombiU's already-tough (and very fun) normal mode.
The game relies on not suriving. And if you survive, you've kinda broken the game. I was getting tired on dying, gettting a new survivor, then having to continue where I left off. (often without my supplies) Since I wasn't dying very often, I've switched to Survival Mode where you only get 1-life. It suits my long-survival play style better. If I continued on Normal I probably would have finished too soon. (which I've heard can be the case) I'm usualy quite happy to take games very, very close - and hang on to the novelty of not knowing how much farther you have to go.
We need more games this hardcore.
I think it's very cool how Ubisoft is showing the names of the people who beat on Survival Mode in the game.
Yeah, that is pretty sweet. I really hope the game gets patched to be more social. I only seem to encoutner "other players' dead survivors" at the same (beginning) spots. And I think they could improve the "spray paint" messeges, I dont see that many. (beside good ones :))
I noticed that too. I don't have the game but it looks like their messages are on walls in the game world, is that true? Or is it on a menu or a loading screen? It would be pretty neat if the dev was tagging walls in game with messages like this.
Yeah, the devs have tagged the walls. I saw one saying "Return here soon" There's also a in-game player-messeges, where other people have left spray paint emblems as warning or good-warnings. I haven't seen that many really. And a crappy part, is I can't view the ones I've painted, and sometimes I was painting for my own directions
In-game recognition is cool and all, I personally would've preferred and achievement/trophy.
yeah, coz you really need that "bragging rights" huh? jeez...
And having your name on a wall in the game ain't subject to bragging rights also? I stated an opinion without downplaying anything, learn how to respect a goddamn opinion.
