Wii U Owners Deserve a Legend of Zelda HD Collection

GenGAME writes: "Zelda fans saw in Ocarina 3D the promise for the series as a whole to live on in future generations of hardware and to be passed down to future generations of gamers. The Operation Moonfall movement for a 3DS follow-up that rebuilds Majora’s Mask proves it: Zelda fans want Nintendo to take steps to ensure that the best games of the series are given the same timeless treatment.

"With Wii U, Nintendo has the opportunity to give fans one of the greatest gifts of all: an HD collection assembling all of the best Zelda games together in one convenient up-to-date package." (The Legend of Zelda, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, The Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Wii U)

I'd just buy it once. Ok.. Maybe twice.

If anything, remake the 2D gameboy games or Majora's Mask, but don't make Nintendo waste their time in HD collections, Zelda Games from the GC and Wii can hold on their own.

Having seen what Nintendo's graphical style can look like in HD, courtesy of the Wii U, I'd love to see games like Majora's Mask and Wind Waker in HD.

Even if they hold their own as it is, it'd be worth the buy for a lot of Zelda fans.

HD remasters don't really take that much effort, and they could always outsource the labor. I agree about Majora's Mask though. Really hoping for a 3DS version.

Bring it on.

I'd buy this faster than Reggie can say "dramatically better".

i remember the old zeldas and the N64 zeldas on Gamecube on one disc, i think it'll be great to have an HD collection.

I'd rather have a new game first, or maybe a Skyward Sword port since the motion controls killed it a little for me.

Will we finally get to see a massive open world Zelda game pushing the Wii Us hardware...I mean I would want the same from the next Mario game, a massive open world game where you can visit the Mushroom Kingdom, Peaches castle, Forests, Bowers land/castle...drive cars toads and other NPCs are using in the land, unlockable Karts or even Lakitu's cloud.

NO! no HD collections for the fresh New Generation. HD collections, yes maybe great to have and fun to play remembering thing from growing up and playing them the first time. However they are a cheap copout and could easily having that time invested in making a new franchise installment or even a new IP which it's a new gen, let's see some new faces and get new stories.

HD collections were one thing last gen when it started to slow down and devs didn't want to make anything new because new hardware was coming soon. Now it's here with it's MS and Sony kin close behind (we hope). Devs need to breathe fresh air into gaming and create some mind blowing experience. Less generic FPS, less cheap copout things. New IPs, More puzzle games, more horror games (and actual horror games like amnesia, not cheap pop-n-scares like RE or Dead Space {however these games are good thrillers and are welcome}), more RPGs like we had in the Ps2 days.

HD Collections don't cost a lot to produce, and offer a wide profit margin, so I doubt that it will have an effect on new IP's. HD collections have generally done pretty well this gen.

Some HD Collections are released as advertisement for long running series so players can catch up if they're new, and get interest in the next game coming out in the series.

I get what your saying though. New IP's are great too.

I'd buy it.

I have a love-hate relationship with the possibility:

I'd love that the games would be remade and I'd go play them, but
I'd hate that I'd have to go and buy a WiiU to do it.

Cus then that would be two generations of Wii that I would have purchased only to play Zelda Games.

Give me a 3d full HD remake of Link to the Past.
That game was the reason I fell in love with zelda, Dark World would look just astonishing!

Why do people think they deserve everything
