Obviously it's still too early to tell.
I don't see Nintendo not making stellar first party games for this beast. They've already said they're pushing back their games to make room for other developers.

The wii released alongside the ps3 a year after the XBOX 360. this guy gets alot of just facts wrong in this article. He mentions games on the wii that came out long after the console release like they were available immediately. He also says it didn't launch with a mario, zelda, blah blah, then says it did have mario but ign just scored it low. Don't believe this article, it's rubbish. At least on the game fact parts.

Did you read the article dude? When I mentioned Mario/Zelda/Metroid it had nothing to do with the launch lineup. (Although I'm well aware Twilight Princess launched with the Wii.) I never said anything about IGN rating a Mario game low; I said IGN gave the Wii U a middling review.

Author of the article here. Totally my fuck up. As far as consoles go I'm only a PS3 owner, so I was only thinking about its release when I wrote that. It's been edited to clarify. If it helps I feel like a bit of a dick about it.

makes it sound like xenoblade, ssbb, and no more heroes were available anywhere near launch which they weren't. your completely right and i apologize about the nsmbu and system rating confusion, i did read the article just misunderstood. i'm not trying to harp and i'm sorry if it seems so, but lately it just seems many game journalists are taking liberties with facts lately.
I do like the article, it's long and gives alot of different points of view to as to how the wii was a success and how the wii u will have a difficult time emulating it, and I hope you the best in any more you write :-)
